Thoroughly enjoyed it : thanks #bneeats and #triplethefoodies... Where do I start ? The restaurant The food The location Their philosophy Lets start with the owner ! My first memory of him is that he asked me if I wanted vegan water. I actually paused for a second and thought is there vegan water? But of course he was joking. He is a bit of a comedian and so dedicated to veganism ! One of the dishes that we had was Garlic Beef Black Bean with veges. Full of goodness, nutrition, great tasty nuances and mock beef that I thoroughly appreciated ! I was on my phone googling kittens with different coloured eyes. I miss David Bowie. ... Fresh, clean healthy choices with great helpful eager customer service to boot. That’s right, TO BOOT, it’s a widely used phrase around the world. Im actually opening my own business similar to this, but calling it Sooky Bowls. This culture delivers street food from Amritsar, India. Its similar to naan, crispier with filling. But its more of an experience than anything, you can use your hands and dip into exotic amazing dips. If you want to socialize with me and not hear me talk, this is the best place to go. I was always aware that I needed a passport to cross the river however I didn't expect to find the best Arancini thingamajigs that I've ever had. they were so gorgeously cheesy with spinach and mushrooms, I could have had four of them. Crispy on the outside gooey on the inside, just like me. I have no idea what that means.... 20.01.2022 SUPPORT LOCAL - Holland Park, Stomp Espresso I think I’ve driven past this little centre now 105 789 times, so on the 105 790th I paid them a visit. A bit of a time capsule, I noticed it had original Terrazzo tiles, gorgeous. ... Back to Stomp : It's a busy café with great coffee and great café food, done well, also with a strong sense of community. Back to me, I HATE tomatoes. HATE HATE HATE. Well raw anyway, I might eat them if they are cooked to a crisp and shoved up a pigs as I love pork ! But being Brisbane fattest foodie has taken a toll and I need to start losing weight, NOW ! Today Blake, one of the Head Chefs and Co-Owner suggested I had the Pizza. Quattro formaggi : Baby spinach with four cheeses fior di latte, gorgonzola, parmesan and feta. Im a big fan of cheese, to have two in one dish would be a great time, three would be get a room, four : light me a cigarette. That Gorgonzola was TO DIE FOR and the thing is, I told Blake I wanted something small and light, like my brain, but I scoffed it down, elegantly of course, quicker than you can say I LOVE YOU BOCCA. Is it me, or do they just treat everyone like royalty ? Still with the same luscious bright fresh surroundings but a bit more grounded and established now as a great place to have a well cooked, well thought out and tasty meal.... I had the Linguine with a touch of chilli, garlic, zucchini ribbons, feta and a little bit of zesty lemon. I was feeling frisky so I added the prawns, have no idea what that meant. Being an Italian restaurant the pasta was cooked to perfection, the prawns were married into the light dressing beautifully and what I loved most about it was the pockets of feta tumbled in the dish here and there. Gorgeousness on plate, I mean, just look it at ! BOOM ! This is the new must do hip happening place. 15.01.2022 SUPPORT LOCAL - CBD, LUCHA - Kitchen & Bar The conversations last night were very eclectic, some were entertaining, some were unpredictable and some were ... maybe some should not have been mentioned? I suppose it makes life interesting. Just like this favourite eatery of ours, Lucha Kitchen and Bar. In regards to the service you just can't beat it. All the staff were so helpful, always smiling, eager to help, I couldn't get enough of them.... The food was just exquisite, taste sensations after taste sensations. BUT we hardly ever have dessert when we have one of our debaucherous Asian feasts, and actually I tried to put a hold on it, thank goodness I wasn't successful. I found it not only visually exciting (thats my annoying voice in the clip) but actually quite light, containing various fruits, tea, condensed milk and EVEN Oreos. I feel my foodie assistant last night did a tremendous job choosing the restaurant and the meals. Urban on the Grow sent me Microgreens to test drive and to be honest, this could be life changing. I think I felt healthier just looking at them and the taste is so pure and wholesome you don’t need to add much. 02.01.2022 SUPPORT LOCAL - East Brisbane, Bizy Cafe First day off and I head over to a café I have driven past 125,748 times, give or take 1 or 2. ... I didn’t want to bother them as they are Bizy, but they greeted me with open arms and eggs . Its such a cute spot, on the main road, but not on the main road, if you know what I mean. Plenty of seating, great coffee and great food. I made the MISTAKE of not ordering his famous (make on the spot hollandaise sauce) Eggs Benedict. Or was it a MISTAKE ? I instead had a great homely, nicely cooked omelette, it hit the spot BORIS ! Will order the Eggs Benny next time!
