23.01.2022 New week, new us! We decided it was time to update the IASAQ Branding our new design is a contemporary uptake on our current logo. The inclusion of the cultu...ral icons of the shamrock and kangaroo creates a synergy between Ireland and Australia. The four smaller shamrocks are a representation of the four provinces of Ireland Founded in Brisbane over 10 years ago, our mission remains the same as on day one; to provide support, care and assistance and consideration, where needed for the Irish Australian community in Queensland

15.01.2022 #candleforcian A Chairde, many of you will have heard of the very tragic and unfortunate passing of Cian English this week. Cian and his family are originall...y from Carlow but currently reside here in Brisbane. With current restrictions in place many people have not been able to travel to pay their respects. Instead, you are invited to light a candle tonight, Thursday 28th May in memory of Cian, so we can all be stronger together. You can post your memories, share pictures or offer condolences to the page CandleforCian. The Irish are known for coming together during tough times and we have no doubt that that everyone in Brisbane is thinking of the English family at this time. On behalf of us all here at IASAQ, we would like to offer our sincere condolences to Cians family and friends and we will we continue to offer support in whatever manner required. 10.01.2022 ***Important update*** Hi everyone We hope you and your families are keeping safe.... With a number of clubs commencing training we wanted to inform everyone of the requirements that MUST be adhered to before anyone returns to training. We are asking that everyone takes the time to read this information. Requirements to return to training: Each club must sign and return their Affiliation Form. Each clubs COVID 19 Officer is to sign Appendix one- COVID Officer Duty Statement and submit their clubs Return to Training Plan. Both of these signed documents must be submitted to the QGFHA secretary before training can commence. Provide a letter from the training ground stating that the clubs is allowed to begin training and what date this will commence. As per the guidelines the COVOID 19 Officer must ensure all participants at training sign the waiver and it is sent to the Member Protection Officer (and the QGFHA Secretary) at least 24 HOURS prior to training commencing. By signing Appendix One you are committing (except Shamrocks) to be part of a rota to cover the role of overall COVID Officer on games day. This rota will be agreed by the Clubs and advised to QGHFA before fixtures will be drafted and the season starts. Requirements for a return to games (proposed start date of the weekend of 5th/ 6th September): Each club must have at least one COVID 19 Officer who has agreed to enter a roster to take responsibility on match day if all clubs do not agree to this, then no season will progress (this excludes Shamrocks who have indicated that it will not be participating in games this year). All other vacant roles must be filled on the QGFHA committee before fixtures are drafted: Referees Coordinator, Registrar for both mens and ladies and First Aiders. Support will be provided to each of the roles by the current QGFHA committee. These roles can be shared between more than one person. All players to have signed their waiver and registered on the ACTIVE system (including having paid fees). All other non-players involved in the games or training must sign the waiver and become a member of a club. The club secretary must maintain a members register. Only members of clubs will be able to attend Willawong. We appreciate that these requirements may seem cumbersome, but they are to protect the welfare of all our members and their families. As you all may be aware, there has been some recent cases of COVID-19 in QLD. This demonstrates how quickly things can change and how it is important that Clubs are implementing the steps set out in their plans. If anyone has any questions or would like a copy of any of the referred to documentation please reach out to the QGFHA secretary on [email protected] or your club secretary. Thank you for taking the time to read this post and we look forward to hopefully seeing you all in Willawong soon
