18.01.2022 Happy Naraka Chaturdashi ? Choti Diwali Naraka Chaturdashi 2020 date and significance: Naraka Chaturdashi is the second day of the Diwali festival. It marks the triumph of Satyabhama (Shri Krishna's consort) over Narakasura. The fourteenth tithi of Kartik Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the Moon) is celebrated as Naraka Chaturdashi, and it marks the second day of Diwali (Deepavali festivities). Named after Narakasura, this festival is of great significance as it marks the en...d of the demon at the hands of Shri Krishna's consort Satyabhama. Read on to know the Naraka Chaturdashi 2020 date, significance, and other details. Naraka Chaturdashi significance Narakasura was the son of Bhudevi and Lord Varaha (an avatar of Shri Vishnu). However, he grew greedy and unjust. He created destruction and devastation without the fear of death. He knew that as per Lord Brahma's boon, none other than his mother, Bhudevi could kill him. Therefore, he became complacent. Once he attacked Lord Krishna. And the latter's consort, Sathyabhama, who was an incarnation of Bhudevi, retaliated with much vigour and courage. She killed Narakasura, thereby sanctifying Brahma's boon. However, before breathing his last, Narakasura, pleaded to Bhudevi (Satyabhama), sought her blessings, and wished for a boon. He wanted to become immortal in the memories of people and hence wanted people to celebrate his death by lighting lamps. Therefore, people celebrate Naraka Chaturdashi, which is actually the death anniversary of Narakasura. Most importantly, people celebrate this day to rid themselves of evil, negativities, laziness, and evil. It signifies riddance from everything negative and things that stop us from walking the right path. Happy Narakachaturdashi / Choti Diwali to everyone

08.01.2022 Princess Savitri: An article by Awadesh Sharma ji: The earliest source referring to Savitri and her accomplishments is found in the Van Parva, Forest Book, of the Mahabharat. Pandavas were spending their twelve-year exile in the forests. Various sages visited Pandavas during this period and narrated motivating stories to soothe their feelings over their misfortune. Once sage Markandey visited Pandavas after Draupadi was freed from king Jayadrath who had abducted her during... their absence. Yudhishthir recounted the tale of their tribulations and told him about the incidence of Draupadi’s abduction. Markandey narrated the story of Ram who was exiled for fourteen years. His wife Sita was abducted in the forest. Ram recovered her, returned home and eventually became a king. Ram had only one brother with him in the forest. His conditions were harsher than that of Pandavas. To read further click the link below: See more

In North Indian traditions of Diwali, it is celebrated to honor the victory of Lord Rama over King Ravana and his return back home after an exile of 14 years while in South India it is celebrated in the honor of Goddess Laxmi. In the lead-up to Diwali, celebrants will prepare by cleaning, renovating, and decorating their homes and workplaces with diyas and rangoli. During the Diwali people wear their finest clothes, jewelries, illuminate the interior and exterior of their homes with diyas and rangoli (oil lamps or candles), worship Lakshmi, the goddess of prosperity and wealth, light fireworks, and partake in family feasts, where mithai (sweets) and gifts are shared. This is a big hint to all the business out there!!!
