25.01.2022 Now, if we were chit chatting interior fashions over a cup of tea, one of us could easily note that the Ombre Effect has been popular for a good few years now. Whilst my own personal style is not overly caught up in following popular fashions too religiously; I believe there is something timeless and classic about adding colour tone in this particular method of shading. Maybe its also because the ombre - pattern loosely mimics that of nature / sky, how I do like-y like it! 17.01.2022 Hello, It's been ages since I posted an update over here on facebook. In a bid to keep my socials manageable, I dont spend a great deal of time on here. Except maybe if I'm having a quick look - see on Marketplace :). I do however update my stories regularly over on instagram and you would be most welcome to follow along over there. Below is some design work from last year, it's a particularly good example of "buying well" for the home. "Buying Well" simply means to buy items... that will last and that have been made well. I'd love for our industry to collectively work together to do our bit to reduce landfill and avoid disposable decorating more so. The flip side is that I know it's not always easy or affordable for consumers to realistically do this... however 2 simple methods to use are; avoid fast fashion buys, think long term (because fashions will always come and go) and never buy more than you need to avoid waste https://rachaelhonnerstylist.com.au//latest-design-work-h/ See more

13.01.2022 Styling this house almost broke me; not because it was uninteresting or lacking in style. Its only downfall was owning too many unique treasures with amazing stories to boot. I truthfully struggled with your simple de-clutter! Let's blame my lapse in judgement on the ex racing car driver who'd been collecting stories and unique finds from all over the world since the age of 19. Admired his taste and such a character too! 10.01.2022 I am talking about Urban Style Hunters on the blog today, well yesterday to be more precise. Jamie and Gemma are the fun ladies behind it and I'm a fan! This is Jamie's sweet kitchen in the reals! They specialise in selling handpicked vintage finds, roadside finds, art and home-wares. Often these finds are beautifully repurposed or upcycled by the pair. Like me, they are all over good décor and homes not costing a fortune! 09.01.2022 A lovely day at B's home adding some finishing touches. A beautiful room will always have a lovely mix of new and old touches. And like below, it should never be too perfect because while it's nice that furniture pieces talk to one another in some way, avoid things being too matchy match. Simple changes were made to this room via assistance sourcing small - touches to further establish a colour palette that directly spoke to my client. And lastly a rework of artwork and place...ment. A great room recipe to follow is to have a good colour palette, correct furniture and art placement, well proportioned furniture, a good variation of shapes. 09.01.2022 Hello, On the blog this week I list some must read magazines - just in case you too were wondering where to spend some of your hard earned pennies this month. I particularly enjoyed Renegade Collective (it is so so good and inspiring!) and I also enjoyed INSIDE OUTSIDE Magazine - their is a fab Indoor Plant section on page 55, showing some gorgy products to facilitate indoor-plant lovin for the home.
