23.01.2022 Brisbane Roof and Paint: 130 Beasley Road Project This sprawling quality home was in desperate need of a makeover. The owner had contracted Infinitec builders to orchestrate the renovations. Exterior & interior painting, new pool deck and of course roof restoration were the major works undertaken at this majestic property.... Obviously starting at the top, the roof was the first stage of renovations; Infinity Builders called for quotes and they contracted Brisbane Roof and Paint to carry out the restoration. Their choice was based on the references and job portfolio provided by Yanni Manousakis, the proprietor. Phillip Kelly from Infinitec decided that Brisbane Roof and Paint were the best choice for a home of this standard, and he was proved right. The cleaning was somewhat of a challenge as the house was coiling around a large in-ground pool and a lot of care had to be taken to ensure that debris from the roof did not soil the crystal clear pool water; Luke, the primary applicator with years of experience in the industry made sure of that. 350 something ridge caps had to be re-pointed ensuring weep holes were drilled for draining on the top ridges. Weep holes are industry requirement to ensure draining of any water that found its way inside the roof cavity. Nick the resident roof tiler, carried out the roof repairs and repointing with gusto. With all the roof repairs and masking of sensitive areas out of the way, a coat of sealer/primmer was applied to seal the tiles and ensure adhesion, then the hand painting around the fireplace chimney, barge tiles and intricate areas was carried out. Finally 2 coats of Tilecoat, a premium roof membrane based on the world renown Rohm & Haas resins was applied to complete the restoration process. With the exterior painting concluded, the majestic home looked like new. 22.01.2022 Brisbane Roof and Paint: Bonogin at the Gold Coast Project This project situated in Bonogin at the Gold Coast, presented Brisbane Roof and Paint with several obstacles and points to consider. The first was to convince the owners that they were the best option for the makeover as Brisbane Roof and Paint can carry out and coordinate both aspects of the job. Wanting a complete change from the existing colours the owners were looking to restore the roof and paint the external of ...the house but they were concerned about the green colour of the aluminum windows matching the new colour scheme. After much deliberation dark grey was chosen for the roof colour and Hogg Bristle full strength for the walls with gutter, fascia and doors matching the roof colour. Having to travel for over an hour every day all staff were compensated for their time and petrol in order to achieve the desired result. The owners were like expectant parents/grandparents always looking for reassurance that the colours will turn out right and it was given without any hesitation as BRP has worked in the past with these colours Cleaning of the roof was the first item in the agenda to allow the house painters to start working on the exterior of the house. Even with just cleaning the roof the house started to look better already. Nick the roof tiller arrived the next day to change the damaged tiles and carry out the re-pointing on the ridge tiles. Making sure the pointing (waterproofing compound sealing the ridge tiles) is in sound condition is the most important part of a roof restoration; the ridges keep a roof water tight and should be treated accordingly: no short cuts there. With the roof repairs over, the roof painter completed the restoration; now it was up to the house painters to complete the makeover. The in- colour matched perfectly the roof colour and garage door colours. When the owners arrived from interstate they couldn’t believe the difference it made. 10.01.2022 Brisbane Roof and Paint: Carina Heights Project This project at Carina Heights was particularly sensitive as we had to juggle between timing and client requirements. The requested quotes were provided for the restoration of the roof as well as the painting of the house exterior. After several trips with sample paints for the clients to choose from, it was decided that Tuscan Red for the roof and Hogg Bristle full strength for the walls, with Hogg Bristle for the soffits a...s they need to be a lighter colour not only for aesthetics but also to reflect more light into the home. Being a two level roof requires a fine-tuning of sorts with the roof cleaning doe first then while the roof tiles were being changed and the ridge tiles re-pointed with an industry approved pointing compound, our painters were busy painting the gables on the roof and the wall sections between the two roofs. With the painting of the mid-section out of the way, Luke our experienced roof painter commenced applying a coat of sealer/primmer enhanced with anti-mould solution to ensure adhesion of subsequent coatings as well as prevent mould growth. When sealer was cured, hand painting of barge tiles and edges was under way to ensure barge tiles are same colour as the roof, then 2 coats of Colourtile were applied to the whole roof area. Meanwhile, our house painters were busy below painting gutters- fascia-soffits, walls, columns, doors etc. completing another masterstroke of home makeover. Needless to say that both the owners and their family were impressed by the result.
