20.01.2022 BrisbaneSDE Open Day - Online was held yesterday and was a huge success with approximately 400 registered guests. Heres some of the team online.

20.01.2022 Reflections from the community ... I was pleasantly surprised when my daughter expressed a wish to return to mainstream schooling a couple of months ago. She is very keen to expand her social experiences, participate in school musicals, band, choir and that sort of thing so did her own research on local schools and bought the info to me. Her psychologist is very happy with her progress and I believe that we would definitely not have made such great leaps and bounds without... the fantastic support from BrisbaneSDE. A major part of my daughters comfort in seeking out mainstream schooling experience again is her knowledge that she can return to BrisbaneSDE in the future if things don’t work out at her new school. I can’t praise BrisbaneSDE highly enough for our experience there. Without the opportunity to school through BrisbaneSDE I dread to think what could have happened, and there is absolutely nothing the school could have done better to help us return to normal life after the trauma that she and I had suffered. I will forever be grateful to BrisbaneSDE for helping us through the most difficult two years of my life and making sure that my daughter was not only supported academically, but also emotionally and psychologically. A few other students from her classes are leaving BrisbaneSDE at the end of the term and they have already arranged an email group so that they can stay in touch when they start at new schools next year. I think that this is great evidence of the fantastic job that BrisbaneSDE does, creating positive and lasting bonds between students even though they may never have met face to face. We would have been lost without BrisbaneSDE.

15.01.2022 Indigenous Education Program: This week we had the privilege of having Black Card come to our school. Mundanara Bayles (Managing Director and Co-Founder) provided a wealth of knowledge and insite on building cultural capability within our school environment. This training allowed all staff to understand the importance of engaging and embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives within their teaching and learning framework. We look forward to continuing the partnership with Black Card.
