25.01.2022 Update 17/3/20 4PM - EVENT POSTPONED - Due to the government advisory, the event date of the Acacia Ridge Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank Brisbane's Great South Run 2020 has been postponed for approximately 3 to 6 months (tentative - date to be advised - depending on the length of the ban and rescheduling or cancellation of other major events). All registered participants will be automatically transferred to the rescheduled date. Updates surrounding the scheduling of th...e event will be posted here and on the event website. Thank you for your understanding and best of luck with your training. Update 16/3/20 8PM - We’ve update the information for the rescheduled event date to not clash with the Melbourne Marathon since everyone seems to be going We’ll hold off on announcing the rescheduled date until the length of the ban becomes clearer and until other major events announce their plans. Update 13/3/20 3PM - The government has advised against organised, non-essential gatherings of 500 people or more starting Monday 16/3/20. The duration of the advisory is unknown at this stage. We will issue an update Monday 9AM 16/3/20 after details of the advisory are clarified. 13/3/20 10AM - Just a quick note regarding planning for race day given the Coronavirus situation and recent toilet paper shortages (we realise toilet arrangements are at or near the top of priorities for runners), currently the government is advising there is no need to cancel any events or gatherings or take additional precautions to normal practice. People who are unwell should not attend public events. We’re keeping an eye on the advisories and will post an update if anything changes.
