18.01.2022 From 1KW to 7.25KW! Not a bad upgrade

17.01.2022 When everyone keeps quoting you $4000 for a new xantrex inverter (when all it needs is 2 new fans), give me a call! This one will be powering along for years to come with two new #delta cooling fans

12.01.2022 Brent was quoted $1490 to replace his element and thermostat by a very large mob that specialises in mowing - surprisingly he declined. All fixed for $300 by me - don’t be ripped off.

11.01.2022 Stephen came to me with a failed 3kw inverter and 16 dead 180w Trina panels. Today I sorted him out with 10 replacement panels under warranty, and 8 285W QCell modules coupled with an ABB 5KW inverter.

09.01.2022 Today I removed a mix of 6x180W and 6x200W installed on a fronius 1.5KW system. The previous guys clearly CBF’d to do the right thing. Now running 8x300W Jinko PERCs - much nicer!

08.01.2022 Over two years I slowly convinced my crazy Ukrainian mate Paul to fix the battery setup on his solar. When Paul first came to me in 2018 he had originally contained 4x12v lead acid batteries (with a fault current of somewhere around 6000 amps), in an enclosed supply cupboard - ready to emulate a star gate activating.... I managed to convince him to put them in a cabinet, cover up the terminals and chuck a vent in the ceiling so we could get rid of the hydrogen bomb developing next to the tissue shelf. With tax time looming Paul decided to splurge a little, so we scrapped the failing lead acid batteries, replacing them with some Australian made PowerPlus lithium modules!!

07.01.2022 This is why I try and repair as much as I can. I replaced an inverter at friends mother’s house 6 months ago. Origin sent their inspections team around to perform a check and told Gloria the inverter wasn’t working and needed to be replaced - for almost $2800!!!! After she rang me and I told them to go away they have now tried to issue a $200 fee for their half-arsed inspection. ... I inspect solar systems for $110 - and I will never tell you your system is stuffed when it isn’t.

07.01.2022 CBF rocked up to a residence to swap out a faulty inverter. Hey whilst you’re here.....

06.01.2022 After 91 year old Rex was nearly conned into replacing his entire system (because it was unrepairable), I had the whole thing going in about an hour - turns out he had an isolator living a double life as a water tank... Don’t be tricked into buying a new system, most of them can be repaired.

06.01.2022 Black out - what black out? David was completely oblivious to the recent power outage until I rang him up! David's running a Victron Multiplus inverter coupled with some Australian made PowerPlus Energy Lithium batteries - a brilliant combination. After today he's looking at throwing another 4KWH of storage so he's even more prepared for the next outage.

03.01.2022 November 1986 - Whilst the world was terrified after identifying the first case of mad cow disease, Solahart rolled this bad boy off the line. Roughly 12300ish days later maintenance in the form of a new element was required - but OH NO THEY DON’T MAKE THESE ELEMENTS ANYMORE!! Fortunately Solahart keep adapter kits to breathe life back into even their earliest systems, so for $300 this one will keep going for a few more years. It just goes to show that if you don’t buy crap ...you can save yourself a heap of cash. I would have liked to replace the anode, but I think that ship sailed 10+ years ago.

01.01.2022 After roughly 20 years it was time to swap this bad boy out with some Mitsubishi goodness. Hopefully the dog can’t pee all over this one
