23.01.2022 PHYSICAL ACTIVITY - ICSSSC grounds have a number of spaces designed for physical movement and sport to give varied opportunity for all students to play and be active in both structured and unstructured activities. These include a double multi-purpose indoor sport facility, an outdoor court space, a large grassed active park area along Gladstone Road and Maldon Street, multiple marked spaces across the entire grounds for activities such as handball, a large under croft play... area, a productive garden and a gymnasium. The adjacent parklands at Gair Park and Dutton Park will also be used for supervised physical activities. ICSSSC values wellbeing and will be actively seeking opportunities to promote active, healthy lifestyles through quality opportunities for our students to be physically active. 22.01.2022 AFL Academy It has been exciting for our team to work with David Noble, General Manager Football - Brisbane Lions and Mark Ensor, AFL Queensland State Manager - Kids, Growth and Diversity, to collaborate on developing our AFL Academy. This is already a strong partnership with all parties committed to providing unique opportunities and exceptional development for our male and female junior players. Last week we announced our player ambassadors, AFLW player Ally Anderson and ...AFL Vice Captain Harris Andrews, who will be working with our AFL Academy students throughout 2021. 07.01.2022 BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE ACADEMY- Deputy Principals, Kristin Lynch and Tamara Sullivan, met with the team from SPARQ-ed yesterday to continue designing the Biomedical Sciences Academy Program. They were very excited to visit the Translational Research Institute to see the facilities the students will be using during their immersion workshops and experiences. Our unique `Propel’ Student Leadership program starts with recognising our next generation of leaders in the junior secondary years of schooling. The exploration of leadership from early age empowers students to identify their unique passions, strengths and abilities, ...and learn how to use them to connect with, and lead others in meaningful gand fulfilling ways.
