25.01.2022 Hi everyone, As some of you may be aware, NOAA recently completed an upgrade to the GFS model with an addition of the Hi-Res (0.25 degree) model. Up until recently, the experimental Hi-Res model was using different modelling than the current GFS 0.5 degree low resolution data. Now NOAA have brought both of the models up to scratch with the new modelling so they will display essentially the same information. The only difference now between Hi-Res and the current GFS is that ...the X and Y axis is double the resolution however the Z (vertical) axis is currently half the resolution of the low res. As such BSCH won't be removing the older standard GFS just yet for this reason until the vertical levels are upgraded. It appears as though the new modelling is quite a bit more aggressive with the instability compared to GFS before the upgrade was done. (Mike)

14.01.2022 I've been playing around with the storm probability charts again. After checking the charts against the current storms, there were many locations where storms were active even though the charts had nothing on the map - this is mainly due to a lot of the storms being very high based and I was working with surface based storm probabilities. A few tweaks to version 2.4 of the charts is now picking up pretty much all types of storms with higher accuracy! I've attached a screenshot of v2.3 vs v2.4 as a comparison - The new storm probability charts will be available from tomorrow mornings run. (Mike)

02.01.2022 Apologies for the delays with the GFS data - we're experiencing issues with an overseas Cloud Server. We're working to get the issue resolved once and for all now that we know the cause of the problem.
