10.01.2022 The Brisbane Symphony Orchestra warmly congratulates its founding Music Director and Conductor Laureate Antoni Bonetti (AM) on being awarded an Honorary Membership of the Order of Australia (General Division). This honour is given in respect of his significant service to the performing arts as an orchestral conductor and musical director. The recognition comes at a time when, after 30 years as Music Director and Principal Conductor of the BSO, Antoni is stepping down from his role and passing on the baton. The BSO will celebrate this transition at a gala concert at Brisbane City Hall on 29 August 2021. We are thrilled that Antoni will continue his association with the BSO, its members and the general public as Conductor Laureate.
