24.01.2022 We have heaps of old school tools... what should we do with them? Shall we keep them and organise an exposition? Shall we sell them? Do you reckon that some people would buy them? Shall we... let go... and stop accumulating them?

23.01.2022 While we add more tools to our inventory, the team at The Edge, SLQ is adding more resources too! It's such a privilege to have a free public makerspace (situated in our same building, and same floor)! Check them out!

22.01.2022 Every day is a good day to discuss some important issues, such as the still too obvious gender gap that exists in many forms in our patriarchal society. On the 19th November, Sabrina Chakori will be speaking alongside other great women entrepreneurs: Anne-Marie Birkill, Rachael Dagge and Holly Tattersall. Sam Jockel will be the facilitator. Thanks to The University of Queensland & UQ Ventures for the invite. ... The event will be online (and face-to-face at UQ). More info here: https://ventures.uq.edu.au/mind-the-gap

20.01.2022 What do you think about this? Consumers in Australia deserve the right to have faulty goods repaired by a manufacturer or third party, or in some cases to undertake self-repair The Right To Repair is well overdue in Australia! Not only a Right to Repair would benefit consumers, but it would also reduce resource use and decrease waste creation!... Today, at the Griffith University, we had a stakeholders forum that gathered few tools libraries, repair cafes, academics, Brisbane City Council representatives, reuse/repair centres from Brisbane and Sydney... through this forum, and a previous one held in February, we are trying to work towards improving the Right to Repair framework in Queensland. We will keep you posted, or if interested reach out to us! A special thanks to Professor Leanne Wiseman for organising the event and for fighting this important battle! We also attached a picture of the #RightToRepair manifesto! Here some readings that might inform you further on the topic: https://theconversation.com/us-and-eu-laws-show-australias- https://www.bbc.com/news/business-49884827 https://www.channelnews.com.au/when-will-australians-get-t/ #righttorepair #repaircafes #repair #reuse #sustainability #climatechange #waste #waronwaste #circulareconomy #internationalrepairday

12.01.2022 "Few days ago I received this in the mail. I just liked the idea to look through it to see the city... beyond trophies, that's what really matters, the impact on society." - Sabrina Chakori Thanks again to 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards QLD (7NEWS Australia) and The University of Queensland. Great view from State Library of Queensland where we are located.

10.01.2022 Thanks to UQ Ventures (The University of Queensland) for publishing this short article about our award! I believe that we can change the economic system. And that begins with re-localising the economy and putting people before profit. This award makes our work more visible. It, as well as the work done by the other finalists, gives me hope and a drive to continue. 7NEWS Young Achiever Awards QLD

07.01.2022 Another great news to finish the week with! Sabrina Chakori is the recipient of the 2020 bursary as emerging female leader from the National Council of Women of Queensland (NCWQ). Thanks to all the bursaries sponsors and to NCWQ for supporting women across different sectors!
