24.01.2022 Dive Report. As this was our shake down trip after the boats annual service and upgrade we decided to not go to far incase there were any issues. Reports were that the water had cleared and we proceeded to moon island only to find that the vis was a meter or two. Plan B. So we tied up at the wharf in Swansea channel and dived the bridge etc, vis was around 5 meters max. No sign of our engine overheating problems we had before so we can start organizing some trips out of Swansea. Dont forget to sign up for the Charity Drift dive as it is only 3 weeks away. Paul.

24.01.2022 Dont forget to get along to the BWAC monthly meeting tomorrow night at Warners Bay Bowling Club. 6:30pm for dinner and then the meeting (really just watching some great recent dive footage and having a chat) at 7:30pm. All welcome, see you there.

23.01.2022 So whod like to come dive a WW1 era destroyer?

23.01.2022 Whats longer than the Swansea Channel Drift? The red tape and paperwork required to run it. The great news is that the final approvals have been received and we can now concentrate on making it a great day. All you have to do is sign up through Brisbane Water Aqualung Club, donate $40 to the Lions Club, a great local charity, and come along and enjoy the day. There will be prizes and charity auctions on the day so dont miss your chance to share in some great gear, training, trips, and social activities.

23.01.2022 Vale Ex BWAC President Trent Lee. Tragically killed in the Solomon's. Clearing mines for the community.... The best diver I've ever dived with and the most generous human we've ever had the pleasure of associating with. He worked tirelessly for the club while he was here and kept in touch when he left. Photos attached of his time with Bwac and a dive trip he and I and Dean Barrett did to dive the Hermes in Sri Lanka. See more

21.01.2022 2019 Charity Drift Dive Update! 1. Who is BWAC and why are they involved in the Charity Drift Dive? Unfortunately we live in a world of insurance and red tape where there are so many restrictions, even on great charity events like the drift dive.... BWAC is based on the Central Coast that has been around for nearly 60 years, diving most weekends on the great sites between Newcastle and Sydney. As a not for profit club, BWAC was able to meet all the insurance and other requirements to run the drift dive for 2019, with Bobs help of course. Each participant is required to sign up as an "Event Member" of BWAC for the day, which can be done by following this link: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/bwac/registration/ 2. How can I pay my registration fee for the 2019 Charity Drift Dive? We have partnered with Warners Bay Lions Club as the nominated charity for the event thanks to the great work they do throughout our community. Payment of the $40 registration fee is made directly to Warners Bay Lions Club via bank transfer, either through internet banking or in your local branch. Bank details are provided once you sign up. We did investigate other payment options such as credit cards, but with the banks taking a fee for such payments it wasnt feasible to set up for this year. We want as much money from the event to go back into great community causes, rather than to boost the banks bottom line. We hope you understand, hopefully making the bank transfer isnt too much extra effort. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or on Facebook.

Some GoPro stuff from Dave , really interesting dropping from the surface to 60 meters in freefall. The destroyer "Oite" and some footage of the wreck of the Hanakawa on a clear viz day. All welcome. Any questions contact us at [email protected].

11.01.2022 Many thanks to our 7 members who helped out at this years Charity drift dive, BWAC provided our registration page to coordinate all the event entries ,108 divers and provided insurance cover for the diving side of the event, also our boat installed the channel markers and removed them as well with a big help from Nobbys life savers in their rubber ducky ,all went well with no diver traffic jam at the entry end, everyone had plenty of time to get in and I would like to thank the divers for their patience with the briefing. glad to say the dive went well, the tide was a little heavy in places but the divers coped well. Swansea channel is such a great dive. Paul.

10.01.2022 Due to unforeseen circumstances our monthly club meeting is cancelled. Look forward to next months meeting. All memberships will expire at the end of the month, all existing members wanting to renew please go to our web site ,register for the drift and we will do the renewal. Those that dont renew ,thanks for the past years. Paul.

09.01.2022 Don’t forget to get along to the BWAC monthly meeting tomorrow night at Warners Bay Bowling Club. 6:30pm for dinner and then the meeting (really just watching some great recent dive footage and having a chat) at 7:30pm. All welcome, see you there.

06.01.2022 Club Update: Happy New Year Everyone, still wondering where 2018 went. We have been working on the boat in the last few weeks due to a motor problem. While the motor is being fixed we have upgraded the trailer by removing all the rollers and replacing them with skids. The brake cables and runners have been replced as well. The boat also has a new ladder and has been cleaned out of all the leftovers from the previous dives ,we even found a few snakes under the dash ,our flares and... safety gear have been serviced and replaced .So we are already to go once the engine is fixed.Xmas sorta got into the way of that as some parts needed to come from the U.S. which we got a little late due to the other 4 million parcels coming from there. Hopefully we will be running some in water tests this weekend, Paul.

06.01.2022 Back in the Water..a perfect day, pity the vis didn't match. With David Blake, Michael Foster, Andrew Hamilton, Suellen Holland Late comers , Jane and Dean Coleman.

06.01.2022 Our club boat has been towed up from our Sydney mooring ready for the Swansea Charity Drift. We will be doing some Swansea Dives over the next few weeks as well as working on our new Swansea Mooring. Now that the boat is here get onto our dive co Ordinator to join us for some great boat diving off Swansea. Check out our website for contact details.

04.01.2022 Our Next meeting is on Thursday evening at 7.30 pm at the Doyalson RSL , join us for dinner at 6.30 pm and some video after our meeting.

03.01.2022 What is it and where is it ????

03.01.2022 Due to some storm up north our planned boat dive is cancelled , but we could do the bridge I suppose ,wont use the boat this time although our new ladder was real easy to walk up, we now have a hoist as well , we don,t need to lug the 60 kg twin sets etc up the ladder anymore , gee whats next ? Stay tuned....

02.01.2022 30m plus visibility on the weekend provided the perfect opportunity to dive the Bonnie Dundee and capture a 3D model, preserving how she lies today.

02.01.2022 How does exploring a wreck where the visibility allows you to see from stern to bow sound? Thats exactly what BWAC did today. Join up and come check out wrecks both above and below the surface!
