09.01.2022 Travel writing submission call! This autumn, as the world finally takes its first tentative steps into a post pandemic world, we invite adventurous writers to create new stories. Ideas that transport people to a place where imaginations can escape from the claustrophobia of locked down lives and restricted travel. Welcome to the TripFiction 'Sense of Place' Creative Writing Competition. There are very few rules and guidelines: we want to encourage creative adventure and fre...edom. Your entry might be a fully formed short story, a travelogue or a more personal memoir. It's entirely up to you. But the one thing it must have is a strong sense of place. The destination at the heart of your story will be as important a character as the protagonists and the plot. The maximum word count is 3,000, minimum 750. The competition closes on 15th November. 05.01.2022 Attention Poets, Indigenous Australian Activists, Academics and Writers. The inaugural LIPP will be awarded in October 2021. It is a biennial prize for the bes...t poems on a personal, social or political subject concerning Indigenous Australians and/or Torres Strait Islanders. Race relations have once again been thrust into the spotlight by the alignment of identity and party politics in the US Presidential Campaign and the global phenomenon that is Black Lives Matter (BLM). Indeed, the many national iterations of BLM demonstrates the extent to which black lives matter everywhere and always. So, the L.I.P.P. looks to the power of poetry and art to generate constructive dialogue between all Australians regardless of race. The only criteria for entry is that all submissions be respectful and sensitive to the integrity of Indigenous Australians (and/or Torres Strait Islander) people and culture. For more information on the L.I.P.P., please visit the link below.

05.01.2022 Keep your eye on this prize!
