24.01.2022 Hi Guys As you know, all social events everywhere are still very much up in the air at the moment. Thankfully The Sportsmans, our ancestral home, is now back up, running and open for business. We have a great relationship with the Sportsman as a venue and trust the procedures they have in place are protecting all patrons. ... Our club is a social club and therefore so are our events. We are a success because we promote the opposite of social distancing. We drink, we mingle, we chat, we dance, we socialise and we .... well we do lots of things. I’m sure you all agree we would have extrem difficulty not breaking the current rules and protocols. I would go so far as to say we would find it impossible. We therefore cannot safely run our events AND guarantee we that will meet the social distancing guidelines. If we cannot guarantee safe social distancing then we should not be running events. We carry this message for not only our own events but also all other events we are asked to promote. For this reason, Brisbears feels it necessary to advise that we cannot currently, in all faith, promote ANY events other than those at the Sportsman’s hotel, where we, as a club, have complete trust that social distancing guidelines are being maintained. The health and well being of our members is our number one concern and we thank you in advance for your support in this matter. We will keep you updated as soon as things change.

21.01.2022 Unfortunately we have to announce that this months den night will be cancelled. LeatherBear is one of our most popular nights so rest assured it will be back as soon as possible, bigger and better than ever. Look after yourselves guys. ... If anyone needs any help over the next month please do not hesitate to reach out. We are your logical family after all. Lots of love Brisbears committee.

21.01.2022 Hey Guys. We are looking at trialling group bookings for theatre & arts events They will be open to all. First one being Charlie and the chocolate factory @ QPAC. If there is enough interest we will book a group ticket. Probably mid week about $100. Let us know if you are interested. Comments welcome below.

14.01.2022 Wow our Naughty or Nice Christmas den night was a huge success. It was great to see so many of our members and guests being able to enjoy having a dance floor again especially when one of our most favourite DJs, DJ Marty was playing for us. A big thank you to our Secret Santa, Pete McLeod who made sure all the men and lads were on his nice list for Christmas. A big thank you to the Sportsman Hotel and all the bar staff and glassies that helped make the night such a huge succ...ess. Finally a massive thank you to all our members and guests that made it such a very busy and special night. Covid-19 has put a few restrictions on us but at least the bears definitely know how to party and dance. From your Brisbears Committee, Dave, Les, Nic, Rod, Steve, Alan, Stuart, Tim and Letsma we wish a very merry and safe Christmas and New Year holiday. We look forward to seeing you all at our next den night on Saturday 16th January with special guest DJ Hectopascal. See more
