17.01.2022 The Chief Health Officer has advised people to wear a mask when social distancing is not possible and all visitors to the medical centre must wear masks for this period (except young children). They are available at Echopharmacy at the entry to the building $1.50. Update 1st Oct. masks now optional , but required if you have any symptoms . Be COVID tested before entry to the practice applies still.

14.01.2022 Remember. Do not buy masks with valves. They breathe out virus onto others around you. Use surgical 3 layer masks . But these must be changed after 4 hours. N 95 is best with highest filtration but is more expensive . Even a cloth mask will help but not as much. Use when you can’t social distance and in enclosed spaces eg public transport , lifts, crowded rooms. They will help to protect not only against Covid but folds and flu.

13.01.2022 Social distancing, hand washing and masks where there’s community transmission, are our only weapons. Have a look at who is getting Covid in Qld : ladies age 20-29. Everyone, please do the right thing. You may survive COVID but a family member or friend may not. Forget going to bars , parties and dance venues. They are Petri dishes and will be where infections are occurring. Wear a mask in crowded places eg public transport, lifts, crowded areas. Stay safe as we ride through this latest outbreak.

09.01.2022 Did you know that that currently the main virus around is the rhinovirus ( common cold) and that this virus is not killed by alcohol based handrub so if you have symptoms, be COVID tested to be sure, stay home, wear a mask around others, wash your hands frequently and throw tissues away after single use. Clean down surfaces with bleach based cleaners so as not to spread it to others.
