19.01.2022 On top of the world at my favourite lookout in Bowen, the WWII Radar site Lookout along the Cape Edgecumbe Walking Trail! From Horseshoe Bay it’s about a ...20min walk to the lookout where you’ll be greeted with stunning views over Murrays Bay. It’s easy to see why the location was chosen as a radar site in WWII, with expansive views over the region. Bowen had an important role in WWII as a Catalina flying boat base for the RAAF and the memorial along the Bowen foreshore is definitely worth checking out to learn more.
