25.01.2022 Carried out Hyundai I30 steering knock repair for Janet yesterday. These have been an issue on this model for a while now. The old bush basically melts away, the resultant knock when turning wheel left / right is substantial. Steering column out, split apart, clean up the mess and fit our new bush. Thanks Janet for your business.

25.01.2022 Replaced a well worn steering wheel on Micks VE SS ute today too. Great father's day present from Micks family. Looks a treat now. Thanks Mick.

24.01.2022 Replaced rear wheel bearing on Ollies Toyota 86, lots of metallic rusty powder from splines. Plenty of movement at the wheel, video shows small play at bearing which equated to about 8mm at the wheel. Thanks Ollie for your business

23.01.2022 Carried out a service on Ollies cool Toyota 86 today. Another cabin filter swapped out that was about ready for harvesting - there was so much built up debris. Thanks Ollie for the return business, much appreciated.

21.01.2022 Started off as a leaking diff side seal on Micks VE SS ute. Pulled driveshaft to find the last person in that area appeared to have a large hammer and scewdriver, with not much finesse. Dust cover badly damaged and the resultant metal swarf looking to have damaged the seal - or just poor installation. Splines on shaft damaged too, possibly from forcing shaft back into diff. Result, one new driveshaft and seal. Diff oil change also, no metal but safety first. Thanks Mick

21.01.2022 Replaced a rear wheel bearing on Bruce's corolla this week. Modular design, bolt hub assembly out and back in again.

17.01.2022 Had an interesting repair recently, Matt and his cool troopie had some brake fade issues in Noosa. Needed handbrake cables as they were really tight, replaced the set and added a new master cylinder and proportioning valve, bled it all as normal. On test drive identified what appeared to be a bypassing master cylinder - light pedal pressure saw the pedal sink to the floor. Re checked everything and ordered a warranty master cylinder. Fitted this one up, same issue Had a ch...at with the team at slacks creek brake a clutch - thanks Jeff. Sounds like bypassing....purchased a different brand cylinder, fitted up, same again..... Another chat with the boys at slacks creek, one if the tech's remembered a bad batch of proportioning valves recently. Fitted one of theirs and hey presto !! Happy customer.....and happy me Thanks Slacks Creek Brake and Clutch for the assistance. See more

15.01.2022 A couple of still photos of the 86 wheel bearing. New and old bearing hubs side by side, and LH side when pulled apart.

14.01.2022 Finally replaced the radiator in Matt's troopie. It has had engine swap and identifying then sourcing copper core radiator was interesting. Fitted up today, looks a treat compared to the old unit.

12.01.2022 Collected a couple of pit bikes from Tim whilst we were on the Northside. Plan is to give them a once over, tidy up and go riding. Thanks Tim, can't wait to go for a ride with you on the little rippers. Watch this space for progress.

10.01.2022 Replaced the lower control arm bushes on the Captiva we took the video of a while ago. Looks and feels better now on the road. Thanks Jeff.

10.01.2022 Another variation on the work today, wiring some batteries and 12volt capability into Sandys pop top. Thanks Sandy, greatly appreciated.

08.01.2022 Old school day today - Started off with a 308 powered UC Torana hatchback ignition system and finished off with a service on 307 small block HZ sedan. Thanks Steve and Sandy for the business.

06.01.2022 Carried out a service, rear brakes and hydraulic cylinders plus a rear tailshaft universal joint on Brads 4x2 Hilux today. I think it has been about 20years since I have replaced a universal joint....annoyingly nobody seems to have fixed the - needles fall into the cup just as you are pressing it in - problem.....got it done with a big dob of grease. Suffice to say, the old one had done its job - and then some. Thanks Brad, greatly appreciated.

02.01.2022 Another interesting job started this week, hot water system leak on Bretts family caravan. Ended up under the bed to access the hot water system, which is located under one of the bedside tables. Watch this space.

02.01.2022 Last Northside job, replaced rear brake shoes, hydraulic wheel cylinders and drums on Reeces Toyota Hiace. Thanks Reece !!

01.01.2022 Spent Monday on the Northside, Mazda 3 job first. Owner concerned about poor idle quality when sitting at the lights. No scan tool codes and live data all spot on. No obvious under bonnet issues. Checked air filter to find last fitment had deformed the rubber seal allowing unfiltered air into the engine - replaced the air filter. Spark plugs appear ok, we suggested replacing when due at service. Fuel filter was removed and inspected, had a reasonable amount of dirty fuel when drained - replaced also. Road tested and all normal. Couple of items to quote the owner for consideration. Thanks Mark for your business.

01.01.2022 Quick little build to keep the 60lt engine oil drums mobile.
