24.01.2022 How would your life improve if you removed the feelings of guilt and anxiety from eating? It’s clear that some foods have more nutrients than others, but it is not necessary to associate guilt with less nutrient filled foods. Instead, shift your perspective and start looking at food from a balanced approach. Once you begin to create a healthy relationship with food you’ll be able to enjoy eating what your body wants and needs in a way that makes you feel good! And guilt... free There is no right or wrong when it comes to eating and you haven’t failed just because you couldn’t maintain a restrictive and unsustainable diet that’s all over Instagram DO YOU and eat to FEEL good! Some days that might look like a nutrient dense salad, other days it might be a burger Don’t let guilt stop you from enjoying food! #goldcoast #health #fitness #balance #foodfreedom

24.01.2022 Life’s too short to tolerate shit that doesn’t make you happy You know exactly what you will and won’t allow in your life but until you love yourself enough to set firm boundaries you’ll always continue to tolerate the bullshit. Get clear on exactly how you want to be treated and don’t settle for anything less than that ... #goldcoast #selflove #health #fitness #mentalhealth

24.01.2022 Who is helping YOU get to the next level? I’ve heard people say that Who you are today and who you’ll be in 5 years is determined by the people you surround yourself with. If you’re not getting around people who have the results you want and that hold you accountable, you’ll always be going around in circles. ... Some people are shocked when they hear I work with a coach. Aren’t you a personal trainer? Why do you need to have a coach? Why?... I coach others to be the best version of themselves, so why would I not have a coach to help me do the same? Although I am a trainer, it doesn’t mean I automatically know everything training and nutrition related. Having a coach means I am constantly getting feedback and being kept accountable which keeps me on track. Plus, working with a coach also keeps me consistently learning and extending my knowledge of training and nutrition! Even coaches need coaches. Listen and learn from the people who have the results you want... So grateful for this beautiful human for always being in my corner, being the ultimate hype girl and giving me the tough love I need occasionally. Boss babe of the year award goes to you @samirosefitness #goldcoast #health #fitness #personaltrainer #selflove #coach

20.01.2022 Reality check: EVERYONE makes mistakes, you’re not special Messing up and making mistakes is such a normal part of life. If you’re not failing you’re not learning and if you’re not learning how are you meant to become better? Making mistakes is an opportunity to grow and is one of the best thing you can do if you change your perspective. For so long I would try to do everything right and be perfect which only led to me feeling like I’d let myself and everyone around me do...wn. Once I gave myself permission to fail and make mistakes I opened myself up to so many new lessons and so much growth! Here’s my 3 top tips on what to do when you ‘fuck’ up: 1. Find the lesson in your mistakes. They’re there to teach you something and help you level up so you don’t put yourself through the same pain again 2. Stop putting yourself down for messing up. Accept it for what it is and move on. Everybody is making mistakes all day every day. There is no such thing as perfect 3. Keep yourself accountable. If you always shift the blame of your actions onto others you’ll always be going in circles. Take ownership of your life and the things you can control Stop pressuring yourself to never be wrong. The most valuable thing you can make is a mistake - you can’t learn anything from being perfect. #mindset #fail #personaldevelopment #selflove #goldcoast

19.01.2022 Talk to yourself like you would talk to someone you love! Enough is enough Next time you become self critical (in a negative way), stop and ask yourself: Would I say this to a family member or friend? Would you tell someone you love that they’re a failure or that they’re not good enough? No? Then don’t say it to yourself. ... Your mind believes everything you tell it so stop being so hard on yourself. Stop being disappointed in yourself. Stop judging yourself. You’ve come way too far to be doubting your abilities. You spend most of your life inside your head so fill it with love and make it a nice place to be #goldcoast #mentalhealth #health #fitness #selflove

15.01.2022 This was me in 2017. I look back to this photo and I don’t even recognise myself. I was abusing my body by overtraining and under-eating and I felt burnt out. I was constantly having to lay down because I was fatigued but as tired as I was, I couldn’t sleep. I would chew gum constantly to suppress my hunger. I woke up at 3am every morning to go and do 2-3 hours of cardio before school. ... I thought I was successful. I’d lost 30kg and was being praised for looking amazing and being so healthy... I was far from it. I got away with it for a while. I pretended to be the positive, motivational girl who’d had an incredible transformation. But inside I was hurt. I was suffering. I was stuck. This keep going on until I finally couldn’t hide it anymore. I’d lost another 15kg by then and had crippling anxiety to the point I would only leave the house to go train or to go to school the few days a week I actually attended. It wasn’t until after I graduated and travelled to New Zealand with my family that I realised I couldn’t keep suppressing my pain anymore. I needed to prioritise myself and look after my self properly, not just pretend, like I had been. It’s been a massive journey since then, so many ups and downs. I fell into a binge and restrict cycle that I felt I couldn’t escape from. It hasn’t been until this year that I have truly healed my relationship with food and can genuinely say I love myself. The past 10 months has been a series of incredible transformation. Mentally, physically and emotionally I have grown so much. And now, looking back on the girl I was in this photo is merely just a piece of my journey that helped shape me into who I am today and who I am becoming. Remember there will always be ups and downs but it is important to remember you’re on your own beautiful journey, keep going #goldcoast #transformation #selflove #bodypositivity #mentalhealth

09.01.2022 To anyone who needed to hear this today, not just girls Focus on being happy and healthy. Fuel your body and move it often, in ways you enjoy! 07.01.2022 ‘Diets’ are a strategy people often use in order to lose body fat BUT, the only real way to lose body fat is by creating a calorie deficit. A ‘diet’ however, may help you maintain a deficit. Here are the most effective 4 ‘diets’ to try 1. The PEOPLE diet - cut out all the negative and toxic people that keep putting you down. 2. The WORDS diet - mindset is everything! Change what you say about yourself and your actions will change with it. 3. The THOUGHTS diet - the way you ...think about food and yourself is important. There is no benefit in putting yourself down or feeling guilty about eating food. 4. The FOOD diet - you can follow all these tips BUT if you’re not in a calorie deficit you are NOT going to lose body fat. I personally hate the word ‘diet’. Notice I didn’t list anything to do with eliminating food groups, unnecessary supplements or 14 day detoxes I believe in creating lifestyle changes that are sustainable long term! If you’re stuck in a yo-yo dieting cycle and struggling to create eating habits you LOVE don’t hesitate to reach out and I’ll be happy to help

06.01.2022 For a long time I feel like I’ve hidden behind a bit of a mask, in day to day life but especially on social media. I’ve been scared to share certain things because of the fear I would be judged or criticised. I’ve held back from posting my thoughts and beliefs because some things didn’t align with the person I was attempting to portray myself as. I’ve hesitated to share my journey and my challenges because I’m not lean enough to be in the fitness industry or I’m not where ...I want to be yet. But lately I’ve had a realisation and I no longer give a fuck! I love myself, I know the value I have to offer and that the right people who resonate with me and my journey will follow along A massive lesson I’ve been learning over the last 6 months is to not mask your vulnerability. It is your greatest asset and the only way to build real connection. You have to own your story, all of it. It can be hard but I promise you it’s not nearly as difficult as battling with yourself and running from it, pretending you’re someone you’re not. I believe it is important that we share our experiences with others. Learning to accept that life is a journey and that you’re not meant to be perfect has completely changed my perspective of myself. By being open about your struggles and the challenges you’ve faced, you’ll not only heal yourself but the power of your vulnerability and sharing your story will help to heal someone else. I’m shifting the direction of my Instagram and I’m aiming to make my page a safe space. I hope my posts are relatable and empowering; in a society where you’re conditioned to believe you must look a certain way to be valued, I hope to show you guys that by loving yourself you’ll come to realise it doesn’t really matter what anyone else thinks of you. It only matters what YOU think of you. I’m really excited about the direction I’m heading and the content I’m creating to share with you guys, stay tuned I’ve got some epic things in the works #mentalhealth #bodypositivity #health #fitness #selflove #goldcoast

05.01.2022 10 things I experienced when I was lean that made me realise that a healthy relationship with food is more important than maintaining a lean physique: 1. I avoided certain foods, entire food groups and macros out of fear, because they were bad or unhealthy. 2. I didn’t eat out due to lack of control over what was put in the food, how it was prepared or not knowing the exact calorie breakdown of every meal 3. I never ate dessert or cake on my birthday to celebrate... because it would break my lifestyle habits 4. I spent excessive time reading food labels and fixating on what ingredients had been used 5. I became anxious at the thought of having to eat a type of food that wasn’t clean. 6. I spent endless hours preparing food so that quantities were met to the gram and everything was cooked in a specific way 7. I spent increased amounts of time each day obsessing and thinking about food and healthy lifestyle choices 8. I felt guilty or like a failure when I made an unhealthy choice and would find it hard to forgive myself because of it 9. I only felt self control, satisfaction and self confidence when eating healthy foods 10. My quality of life decreased as I distanced from friends and stopped socialising out of fear of conflict with my healthy lifestyle Now, don’t get me wrong... you still need to look after yourself and be healthy. BUT health looks so different on every single person and I personally believe that you’re at your healthiest when you get to the point of feeling your best and finding what works for you! I still track my macros to this day but once you remove the attachment and emotion from food it no longer feels obsessive- it’s just a tool to help you reach your goals. Life is to be enjoyed and you’re more than worthy of enjoying it no matter how much body fat you have. Don’t let food control you #foodfreedom #bodypositivity #goldcoast #mentalhealth #fitness #health
