25.01.2022 Franklin finds it's pretty tricky to walk with these glasses on!

25.01.2022 Wishing this magnificent boy the happiest of birthdays today. Franklin is a great big five year old. We spent the morning at the beach and now it’s time for an icy treat! We wish Franklin the best year of being five and hope it is filled with many magical memories

24.01.2022 Maddix and his beautiful mummy brought some special treats for his teachers this afternoon. A gorgeous treat for us to have a long relaxing bath over the holidays! Bliss! Thank you Maddix and Melissa for thinking of us - we are very lucky

24.01.2022 The generosity of our kindergarten family knows no bounds! Many thanks to all our families for donating toys and food items for families in need this Christmas. Pastor Trevor from Surfers Paradise Anglican Church on the Isle of Capri will be collecting all these goodies tomorrow and then packed into hampers for children and families who are in need of some Christmas cheer this year. Trevor will share the story of Christmas and explain to our children where their donations will be going. Thank you to all our families for your generosity, kindness and thoughtfulness. We know there are many children on the Gold Coast who will be away from family this Christmas, who are unwell in hospital or who are homeless. These gifts will go a long way to ensuring they have some joy at Christmas time <3 <3 <3

24.01.2022 Andy gives the piñata one last whack and he hits the jackpot!

24.01.2022 Our magical memory tree! This tree has provided so many opportunities for our children to challenge themselves. This tree has been a pirate ship, a picnic spot, a bird's nest and a fairyland. It has been a place for reflective moments, a place for active play and a place to join with friends to jump, climb, swing and explore. We know that when children leave our kindergarten the memories of this tree will live on forever <3

23.01.2022 Following on from our Big Bang science experience at kindy last week some of the children have continued their interest in all things magnetic. Today they explored the classroom using a variety of magnets to see which objects in the room were magnetic. They discussed what magnets did, how they worked and what magnets might attract. They discovered that although some things looked like metal they weren't magnetic and discovered that other items that didn't look magnetic were i...n fact the opposite! We learned that: A magnet has two ends called poles, one of which is called a north pole or north-seeking pole, while the other is called a south pole or south-seeking pole. The north pole of one magnet attracts the south pole of a second magnet, while the north pole of one magnet repels the other magnet's north pole. A magnet creates an invisible area of magnetism all around it called a magnetic field. The north pole of a magnet points roughly toward Earth's north pole and vice-versa. That's because Earth itself contains magnetic materials and behaves like a gigantic magnet. If you cut a bar magnet in half, you get two brand new, smaller magnets, each with its own north and south pole. If you run a magnet a few times over an unmagnetised piece of a magnetic material (such as an iron nail), you can convert it into a magnet as well. This is called magnetisation. Lots of learning while we were playing today!

Congratulations Starfish - we are super proud of all of you today.

It was such a wonderful way to celebrate our year with the children and to watch them bounce, jump, climb and play together was joyful. We explained the rules when they arrived and they followed them to the letter. We think you will all have lots of tired Seahorse friends tonight - they have not stopped all day :-)
