24.01.2022 Hannah & Tim from @thefoodfarmau are fellow young farmers that are absolutely killing it! They lease all their land and farm across multiple properties on the central coast (NSW). They farm regeneratively, converting conventional farmland to organic, growing the best grass and cover crops which they raise beef, pastured chicken & egg layers on. With access to land being such a barrier to young farmers they've provided us with so many ideas for alternative ways to access land. Thanks again for a great few days team! @ The Food Farm: Central Coast Produce

17.01.2022 8/10/2017 - Three years ago 16/10/2020 - Today. I went out to the farm to set up a new grazing block this morning for @jacobsennick to move the ruminants to t...omorrow and just thought I'd share this. When we moved here 3 years ago our aim was to leave the land in a better condition than when we took it over. Reflecting on this goal I think we can be satisfied with the outcome. Exactly the same paddock taken from a similar angle. @broadchurchfarm @sammmyjade

16.01.2022 Honoured to find our faces in this little gem alongside some great recipes and the stories of other producers! Thank-you for the love & support @tmchugos team! The perfect mail to open on our return to Tassie. @somekind_press

15.01.2022 PRODUCER PROFILE | Calum Jacobsen & Samara PIluris-Sheehy | Broadchurch Farm Calum and Samara are first generation, young farmers. Straight out of high school t...he pair travelled overseas for six months and returned to Western Australia unsure of what they wanted to do. Calum’s parents had just bought a hobby farm in Tasmania, so they offered to house sit until Calum’s parents were able to move. Blown away by the network of conscious consumers and growers in Tasmania they quickly realised that small agriculture was potentially something they could make a living from. Aligning perfectly with their values, farming enables them to give back to the land and the community. After only two years, Calum and Samara have found their niche in Tassies food network raising small batch pastured chicken. #broadchurchfarm

13.01.2022 Popping back on here to share Sprout Tasmania's Cross Pollinate Conference! This is not just an event for farmers/growers/producers but for any one interested in the future of food in Tassie. Going along to our first Cross Pollinate Conference @williesmithsappleshed a couple of years ago opened our eyes to Tassie's unique food community. We felt supported, encouraged and so motivated! Get yourself a ticket, even if it's only for one of the two days or just the dinner! It's ...an incredible networking opportunity with a great panel of speakers and educational and thought provoking activities. Plus who doesn't want to go to a dinner cooked by @vladimir_panevin & @joshua_andree_planet_earth featuring some of Tassie's greatest produce. Feel free to share! 06.01.2022 FAREWELL & THANK-YOU We've been quiet for the last couple of months as COVID forced us to stop. We realised we needed the time to overcome exhaustion and find the passions and interests we had before we started Broadchurch Farm. It's with heavy hearts that we've decided it's time for us to move on from this piece of land, bringing to a close three wonderfully hard years of learning, growing and providing to our community. We haven't made this decision lightly as we know that ...there are so many people around us that have been incredibly supportive, people that have answered our questions, turned up to drop offs and taken our abundances. We are truly grateful to the community that we have found ourselves in and we're truly sorry to no longer be able to offer our pasture-raised chicken. This is not a forever decision, we have found our passion in farming and want to come back to the land at some point in the future. As twenty-two year old, first generation farmers we have realised that we need to go away and work on a few things in order to be able to buy our own farm, with the space, finances and life experience to continue this journey sustainably. Where to now? We honestly don't know. We know one thing for sure and that is beyond 2020 we need a stronger, localised food system that offers more support to producers. While we will not be continuing Broadchurch Farm, we do hope to stay involved with helping build that food-system. In the meantime keep us in mind if you have any work for two dedicated, passionate people with a range of skills in business management, hospitality, retail and farming. Calum & Samara @calumjacobsen @sammmyjade

06.01.2022 We have fully stocked @huon_valley_meat_company in West Hobart & @forkitfarm in Lebrina with a variety of our pasture raised chicken! We're heading off for a break so get in touch with them or pop in to their shops!
