01.01.2022 Here you can see the footings we have poured for our new home site in Margaret River. The engineer specified a concrete raft slab due to the clay conditions on the site. Essentially this involves bigger footings, more steel and footings across the centre in a grid formation. The footings are then tied into the slab with Z bars and the slab reinforced with additional steel. The end result is a slab and foundation that is much more stable and less prone to movement from the clay soils.
