18.01.2022 In 2019, ‘Outback filmmakers’ Jason King and Jessica Byrne visited communities along the Baaka (Barka) to listen to the stories of the Bakandji (Barkintji/Barkandji) people in Far West NSW. This is the story of Eddy Harris who, along wth his brothers, exhibited work as part of the 'River on The Brink' exhibition at Sydney's S.H. Ervin Gallery. The exhibition invited artists to respond to the environmental catastophe unfolding along the Darling-Baaka River. Thanks to all ...those who contributed. Additional footage, Simon Cadman. This video project was funded by the Australian Government’s ‘Indigenous Languages and Arts’ grant funding programme. #SaveTheBarka #SaveTheBaaka #WilcanniaRiverRadio #WestDarlingArts #Menindee #Wilcannia #DarlingRiver #OutbackNSW #Barkintji #Bakandji #Barkindji #CimateCrisis #MenindeeLakes #YummaNgunnaBaaka #BrokenHillProductions Jason King Media
