24.01.2022 Did your child seem to be in the groove of toilet training and then all of a sudden the accidents started happening again or they just woke up and plain refused to use the potty? Unfortunately regressions are common when it comes to toilet training and there are many things that can throw off a child's 'groove'. Moving house, starting daycare or school, illness or stress at home (did someone say lockdown?), all these and more along with developmental changes can turn toile...t training into a one step forward, two steps backward kind of process. The best way to deal with a regression? Understand the cause for it and work from there. If there have been big changes to their routine, a child may simply need more support for a while until they adjust to their new normal. If tensions are high at home then a clean break from potty training may be what you both need for a while before coming back to things fresh, with renewed patience. If they have suddenly woken up from their infancy and are craving and fighting for independence it may help to find ways to support them in having more control over toileting - letting them choose their undies, where to pee (potty, toilet or the good ol' lemon tree ), letting them set the timer for when to go or backing off from asking and telling them when it's time to pee altogether. 18.01.2022 Being ripped from the depths of sleep to tend to a wet child is one of the more unpleasant parts of parenthood. There's nothing more frustrating than faffing around with sheets in the night when you could be sleeping instead Make your night times easier by setting up a Brolly Sheet "sandwich". Simply put one Brolly Sheet on top of an undersheet like normal and then repeat.... Then when you get the call for help in the middle of the night, all you need to do is whip off the top Brolly Sheet and undersheet to reveal the next layer.
