The lovely Rebekah Trevor taught us a thing or two about how to take care of your broms including removing pups, cleaning up plants and tools of the trade. Rebekahs tip - a slightly sharpened and bent butter knife is your best friend when removing pups. Also having two of each tool is handy especially when you misplace them. The plant of the month was Tillandsia with Barry Genn. Barry showed us different tillandsias and what environment they are best grown in. Mick Grange talked about Bromeliads in the landscape. Micks tips - Use prickly bromeliads to stop people (kids) taking shortcuts and walking through garden beds. Also think about planting up Palm trees are great for mounting bromeliads if you have run out of ground space. Thanks to all of our guest speakers and members who brought in plants to the Show & Tell and the plant competition.
