19.01.2022 12 new cases of COVID-19 were diagnosed in the 24 hours to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in NSW to 3,643. There were 28,035 tests reported ...in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 22,087 in the previous 24 hours. Of the 12 new cases reported to 8pm last night: two are still under investigation 10 were locally acquired linked to known cases including: - one attended the Apollo Restaurant in Potts Point - one attended the Mounties club in Mount Pritchard - eight are household contacts of known cases. Of the two cases under investigation, one is a man in his 20s from Sydney LHD and the other is a teenager from Newcastle. NSW Health is advising the man from Sydney LHD dined at the Jambo Jambo African restaurant in Glebe on 31 July from 7pm to 8.30pm, and anyone who attended at this time is a close contact and should immediately self-isolate until 14 days after they were last there and get tested even if they have no symptoms. They should also watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get re-tested should any symptoms recur. The man also visited a number of inner-city venues, patrons of which are being classed as casual contacts. Casual contacts at these locations during the time and dates indicated should watch for COVID-19 symptoms and, if symptoms occur, however mild, immediately get tested and self-isolate until the test results are retuned as negative. These venues include: The Eveleigh Hotel in Redfern on 31 July from 8.30pm to 10pm; Warren View Hotel in Enmore on 1 August from 4pm to 4.20pm Marys in Macquarie Place, Sydney on 1 August from 6.45pm to 7.15pm Cubbys Kitchen in Sydney on 1 August from 7.35pm to 9.30pm Burrow Bar in Sydney on 1 August from 9.35pm to 11.15pm Woolworths at Marrickville Metro Shopping Centre on 2 August from 7pm to 7.20pm. NSW Health can advise the second new case also under investigation, a teenager from Newcastle, attended St Pius X High School while infectious. The school has been closed for cleaning and contact tracing is underway. Anyone who attended St Pius X High School on Monday 3 August is urged to be on the lookout for COVID-19 symptoms and to get tested immediately should any symptoms occur. The teenager caught the Number 26 bus (Hamilton to Adamstown) on Monday 3 August, at 8.20am and NSW Health is advising that all people on the bus at this time are close contacts and should immediately self-isolate until 14 days have passed and get tested even if they have no symptoms, watch for COVID-19 symptoms and get re-tested should any symptoms recur. NSW Health advises the teenager is also a member of the Newcastle Jets under 15s representative squad which played a soccer match against the Stanmore Hawks at Arlington Oval in Dulwich Hill on 1 August. Members of both teams are considered close contacts and are also required to isolate for 14 days. All close contacts of the teenager are being notified and must isolate for 14 days. NSW Health can also today advise a new case, not included in todays numbers, has been confirmed in Newcastle. This case is a close contact of the teenage case, and is a male in his 20s. This case will be included in tomorrows official numbers. This case attended a range of venues over his infectious period, and NSW Health now urges anyone who attended the following venues at the specified times to immediately self-isolate for 14 days from the date they attended, and seek testing, be on the lookout for COVID-19 symptoms and to get tested again should any respiratory symptoms or fever occur. Contact tracing is underway. Bennett Hotel, Hamilton on Friday 31 July from 5.30pm to 10.00pm Greenroof Bar and Restaurant, Hamilton on Friday 31 July from 10.00pm to 12 midnight Sushi Revolution, Hamilton Saturday 1 August, from 12noon to 1.00pm Wests New Lambton on Sunday 2 August from 5.00pm to 7.30pm. Any patrons who visited several more venues at the times specified below are considered casual contacts and urged to be alert for symptoms, and if any develop to get tested and self-isolate immediately: Queens Wharf Hotel on Saturday 1 August from 9.30pm to 11.00 pm Sydney Junction Hotel, Hamilton on Saturday 1 August from 12 midnight to 1.30am Sunday 2 August McDonald Jones Stadium on Sunday 2 August from 7:30pm to the end of the Newcastle Jets match All venues are undertaking cleaning, and extensive contact tracing is underway. NSW Health can also advise that yesterday St Margaret Marys Primary School in Merrylands closed after a known case attended. The school is closed for cleaning and contact tracing is underway. For the full list of dates for venues and locations associated with confirmed cases, please visit https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates. There are now: 107 cases associated with Thai Rock Wetherill Park cluster 58 cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster 50 cases associated with the funeral events in Bankstown and surrounding suburbs, including 15 associated with Mounties in Mount Pritchard. 32 cases associated with the Potts Point cluster, including 26 cases linked to the Apollo Restaurant cluster and 6 cases linked with the Thai Rock Restaurant Potts Point cluster (two cases attended both and are counted as Thai Rock cases). While most cases in the past week have been associated with local clusters and close contacts with known cases, some have not been linked to known cases. To help stop the spread of COVID-19: - If you are unwell, stay in, get tested and isolate. - Wash your hands regularly. Take hand sanitiser with you when you go out. - Keep your distance. Leave 1.5 metres between yourself and others. - We strongly recommend you wear a mask in situations where you cannot physically distance. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available at the following link, or people can visit their GP: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx Isolation is mandatory for anyone identified as a close contact (not a casual contact) of a case. Anyone directed to undertake a 14-day self-isolation period must stay in isolation for the full time, even if they test negative. Early testing may not detect an infection, and release from self-isolation based on a negative test could allow an infectious person to infect others in the community. Most people who are infected and develop symptoms will do so within 14 days of exposure. There are currently 104 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. There are 10 COVID-19 patients in intensive care. Four are ventilated. 85 per cent of cases are being treated by NSW Health are in non-acute, out-of-hospital care.

16.01.2022 20 new cases of COVID-19 have been diagnosed in NSW between 8pm on 18 July and 8pm on 19 July. As cases resulting from community transmission continue to be rep...orted, NSW Health is calling on people across the state to redouble their efforts to stop the virus spreading. Everyone needs to be aware that there has been transmission in venues such as hotels and restaurants, gyms and social gatherings and therefore they should exercise particular caution in those situations. While it is not a legal requirement, it would be preferable and safer for the time being to avoid all non-essential travel, and not host or attend gatherings of more than 10 people at home (not withstanding that the legal limit is 20 people). Everyone should observe social distancing and hygiene measures. We strongly recommend wearing a face mask in situations where social distancing is not possible. It is critical that anyone feeling unwell even with the mildest of symptoms such as a runny nose or scratchy throat seeks testing and self-isolates until they get the result. Stay at home, and do not go to work or catch public transport until you are cleared of COVID-19. All South Western Sydney clinics are open and will continue to operate while there is a need. A full list of COVID-19 testing clinics is available below, and people can visit their GP: https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectio//Pages/clinics.aspx There were 21,167 tests carried out in the 24-hour reporting period, compared with 25,917 tests in the previous 24 hours. There are 96 COVID-19 cases being treated by NSW Health. Two are in intensive care, and one of these requires a ventilator. In NSW, 2,799 people are known to have recovered from COVID-19. The 20 new cases include: Three people who were contacts of cases linked to the Crossroads Hotel cluster Eight people associated with the Thai Rock Restaurant in Stockland Mall Wetherill Park, including four who attended the restaurant and four close contacts Four people associated with the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, including two diners, one staff member and a contact of the previously reported cases Four overseas travellers in hotel quarantine One person who was infected while in Victoria who entered NSW before the border restrictions were in place. A total of eight cases are now linked to the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club. NSW Health is directing anyone who was at the Soldiers Club on Monday 13 July, Wednesday 15 July, Thursday 16 July or Friday 17 July to immediately be tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days, regardless of symptoms. The total number of cases associated with the Crossroads Hotel cluster is 48. This includes 14 who attended the hotel on 3 July, one who attended on 5 July. People who work in high-risk settings such as healthcare facilities or aged care homes must not to attend work if they have symptoms and must get tested immediately. People should also not visit relatives in these settings if they have even the mildest of symptoms or have recently returned from Victoria or attended affected venues. 15.01.2022 I just wanted to offer some insight as to the closure of the QLD border as of midnight tonight. According to the QLD government, they are allowing exempt people to cross the border: "...The exemption also applies when people living in these border communities travel interstate to obtain essential goods and services, including to attend school or child care or obtain medical or other essential services."... For right now, we are classified as an essential service, meaning that if you live in QLD, according to this exemption, you are able to cross the border to attend your appointment with us, and return home with no problems. As I have said before, we are running the clinic by appointment only and ask you to: * Please call and arrange an appointment time. We are running by appointment only in order to restrict the number of people in the clinic at any one time. * Please arrive on time for your appointment. If you are early, please wait outside. We will come and get you when we are ready for you. * Please come to your appointment alone. Again, we are trying to limit the number of people in the clinic at any one time, and there is no need to bring anyone with you, unless you require a carer or translator. * Call and let us know if you are feeling unwell. At this time, we are advising anyone who is feeling under the weather to simply stay at home. Thank you for your patience with us at this crazy time, We hope you are all staying healthy and safe.
