25.01.2022 Bronte Family Doctors will be open on Easter Saturday. There are only a couple of slots left so please book your appointments as soon as possible if you need any consultations with our Doctors, especially those who can't make it due to their working hours. We will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday so we can celebrate with our families too!... Normal trading hours from Tuesday 23rd April.

17.01.2022 PATIENT CONSULTATIONS We ask that if you are experiencing fever, sore throat, muscle pain or cough that you DO NOT come into the practice but rather telephone us on 9387-2000 or go online at HotDoc and book a Telehealth consultation with your nominated doctor. This applies to all patients. You will be covered by Medicare and will be bulk billed if you have:... - Covid symptoms - have been in contact with a confirmed Covid19 case - pregnant - have a chronic medical condition - have a child under 12 months - children under 16 years - over 70 If you do not fit the above criteria, a standard fee of $75 or a long fee of $100 (which are both Medicare rebateable) will apply for your Telehealth consultation. Please note repeat scripts, referrals and results usually require face to face consultation however in view of current situation you will be required to book a Telehealth consultation. We are seeing patients in the practice for the following ONLY and these can be booked by calling the practice on 9387-2000: - Pediatric immunisations - Flu vaccines - Pap Smears - Antenatal Shared Care - Procedures, Mirenas, Implanons For the above appointments please call us when you arrive. Cough Sore throat Shortness of breath AND travelled to ANY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD in the 14 days before getting sick OR had close contact with someone diagnosed with or suspected of having coronavirus in the 14 days before getting sick are a Health Care Worker and have any of the symptoms (even a fever only) You may need Coronavirus Testing and will need to explore options Please CALL Health Direct on Ph: 1 800 022 222 for further advise or refer to NSW Health Coronavirus page If you want to organise testing privately or discuss your symptoms with one of our Bronte Family Doctors, telephone consultations are now available at a cost of $75 (non-Medicare rebateable). Please call reception and organise a suitable time, pre-payment is required. HOW DO WE CONTROL THE PANDEMIC? As a community we have a responsibility to all act in a way that will aide the control of the Covid-19 pandemic. The way we achieve this is to adopt behaviours which both reduce the chance of us each catching the Coronavirus and reduce the chance of spreading the Coronavirus if we are getting infected with it. As early symptoms can be mild (fever, lethargy) before a cough might start, you may not realize you are getting ill. These include hygeine measures and isolating if you are not well. And practicing social distancing - NSW Health provides this guide: Social distancing is an effective measure, but it is recognised that it cannot be practised in all situations and the aim is to generally reduce potential for transmission. While practising social distancing, people can travel to work (including public transport). For non-essential activities outside the workplace or attendance at schools, universities and childcare - social distancing includes: avoiding crowds and mass gatherings where it is difficult to keep the appropriate distance away from others avoiding small gatherings in enclosed spaces, for example family celebrations attempting to keep a distance of 1.5 metres between themselves and other people where possible, for example when they are out and about in public place. avoiding shaking hands, hugging, or kissing other people avoiding visiting vulnerable people, such as those in aged care facilities or hospitals, infants, or people with compromised immune systems due to illness or medical treatment THANK YOU BRONTE FAMILY DOCTORS

13.01.2022 FLU VACCINE CLINIC Flu vaccines have arrived! Flu vaccines this year are more important than ever, but because social distancing is also very important, our flu vaccination process has changed this year. ... Please note the following steps: 1. Book an appointment by phoning 9387 2000. 2. When you arrive for your appointment, phone 9387 2000 from your car. The doctor or nurse will take your call, ask you some questions and provide further instructions. 3. Wait in the car until we ring you again. 4. When we ring you, come inside one person at a time (or one adult with one child). 5. Please have your arm or your child’s leg ready for vaccination (no coats, uniforms or tight sleeves). The doctor and nurse will be gloved and masked for your safety. **Please remember that no immunisation will be given to any person who has a fever or a cold/flu**

03.01.2022 MENVEO (ACWY) VACCINE AVAILABLE NOW FROM 2 MONTHS OF AGE FROM MENINGOCOCCAL DISEASE Meningococcal W strain has doubled in number of cases in the last 18 months and is now one of the more prevalent strains in Australia- alongside A, B, C, X and Y. MENVEO (a combination ACWY vaccine) is available for use in babies from 2 months of age. This vaccination is NOT on the National Immunisation Schedule please speak to your GP at Bronte Family Doctors on 93872000 about this vaccination.
