25.01.2022 PRESENTATION NIGHT 26th July 2019 630pm Bronte Surf Club ... The prizes have been ordered & the trophies are being polished. Please put the date in your diary & remember to bring a plate for our party after we collect all our winnings. If you are holding onto a perpetual trophy please return to either Beki or Steve so they can be engraved (within the next two weeks please). We need to get them all done at once. Stay warm!

25.01.2022 Aaaaaaannnddd we’re back. A beautiful morning of swimming on Saturday. Water is still fresh (but not unbearable). Lovely to see everyone’s faces in the sunshine. Sculptures by the Sea is on for the next few weeks so come early to get a park.

25.01.2022 POOL STILL CLOSED Sigh! Unfortunately the pool is still closed for maintenance. Waverley Council has ordered new parts for the pump which should be installed next week. ... See you at the Bogey Hole for a dip tomorrow.

24.01.2022 FYI everyone - the club rooms DA is in

23.01.2022 Taking care of business, not just in the pool but at our AGM this morning. Although it was beautiful when the sun was shining, it was particularly f-f-f-fresh in and out of the water today! Good job all round by all our swimmers. #bravethecold #everyonewelcome #takingcareofbusiness

23.01.2022 Bronte looking glorious this morning but deceptively cold. Back down to 16 degrees . Lovely to see so many old faces this morning. Welcome back everyone!

23.01.2022 Another beautiful morning down at the pool! Today's highlight was Patrick swimming his first 7 lapper awesome! And a lot of newcomers meant we had 3 junior heats with some fantastic swimming by Ethan in his time trial. Huge thanks to all the club members who took time out to make sure our new club rooms are up to scratch.

23.01.2022 Pool closed, wet, windy and chilly weather... and to top it off blue bottles. Swimming only for the hard core and surfers. Hope you all enjoyed your sleep in. See you next week when we resume usual programming.

21.01.2022 Rain, rain... Stay, your fabulous, we love you! Quiet morning as the crowds stayed away after the rain. The water is a delightful 21 degrees. Enjoy your weekend folks! See you next Saturday (Australia Day weekend)

21.01.2022 Much quieter at Bronte pool this week, so we’re back in the pool. Big waves were a help to some and hindrance to others. It’s about going with the flow right?! #gowiththeflow #bronteswimmingclub

21.01.2022 So the sun still hasn’t managed to show its face but the Bondi Amateur Swimming Club sure did! We hosted the interclub carnival at Bronte Pool this morning. They definitely put us through our paces and we all refueled with a well deserved sausage sizzle & cake. A few big waves over the side of the pool didn’t scare them away. ... Until next year.... #practicemakesperfect #brontevsbondi #toughcookies

20.01.2022 Blue skies were back this week. The big waves kept us on our toes (particularly at the starting blocks) but we pushed on and everyone did an amazing job. A beaut way to start our Australia Day long weekend! #brontepool #bronteswimmingclub #australia

20.01.2022 See you all for championship day bright at early tomorrow. Beautiful sunny day predicted. See you for a swim in the sun followed by end of season celebrations

18.01.2022 A little wet out, but beautiful in... best time of year to swim! Not long til championship day. Only 4 more swims left. Don’t forget about Nigel’s Nudie swim next week. The Sydney Skinny register now before it sells out

18.01.2022 A beautiful little mermaid was spotted at swimming club this morning There was quite a drop in ocean temperature this week. Congratulations to everyone who braved the cold & the brain freeze that came with it Hopefully we will have sunshine & warmer water again next Saturday. ... Enjoy the rest of your weekend. See more

Please be there at 845am sharp. ... Bring a plate of food so we can celebrate together after we race for plum puddings.

18.01.2022 Chill has arrived. The water looks sparkling on these sunny mornings. WAVERLEY council has released the latest designs of the change rooms and club rooms for public comment. A completely new building. Take a look on https://haveyoursay.waverley.nsw.gov.au/. Comments please!

17.01.2022 What a great day for the beach. Water is warm, the sun is shining, and there are no crowds... if only the pool was open. If you haven’t already, get down for a swim Planning to resume normal racing next weekend with the 7 lapped final.

17.01.2022 What a sensational morning at our beautiful pool!! Well done to everyone who swam especially if you finished the 7 lapper! And its just lovely to see all the kids having a go at more & more races. Such an inspiration.

17.01.2022 Quiet morning this morning this morning with the cooler weather, but the good news is the water is slowly warming up (very slowly). Very close finishes this morning, good job handicappers. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

17.01.2022 Mother Nature is definitely in charge today

16.01.2022 New year, new us! First swim of the year and the pool was absolutely packed. We came to a group decision not to put the lanes out and try to battle with others wanting to enjoy the Marvelous day in the pool. So we thought outside the square (or the pool in this case) and swam from the bogey hole to the beach. This is what it’s all about, community, fun and having a go, all whilst enjoying this beaut corner of the world. #whataday #bloodybeautiful #everyonewelcome #luckyducks

16.01.2022 Not the best day weather wise, but still a fantastic day for swimming. Special credit to all the kids for swimming fantastic races despite the weather. And thanks for everyone for chipping in with the timing etc

15.01.2022 Saturday morning swimming club found in Salthill, Galway Ireland. Water temp 10 degrees. No one would have been in long enough to swim a 7 lapper but they all seemed very happy to be in the water.

15.01.2022 Note diving board, and those heavy costumes!

15.01.2022 THIS FRIDAY NIGHT IS PRESENTATION NIGHT 26th July 2019 630pm... Bronte Surf Club We are looking forward to seeing everyone. Please bring a plate of food for our party afterward! cid:[email protected]

15.01.2022 The sun finally decided to join us at swimming this week! Seems our swimmers don’t just glide through the water, they can walk on it too

15.01.2022 Pool all cleaned for swimming tomorrow. Looks like it’s shaping up to be a hot one - couldn’t think of a better place to be.

15.01.2022 Happy Australia Day weekend! Due to expected heat wave and Australia Day crowds at Bronte, swimming club will not be on. Roping off swimming lanes would create chaos in a busy pool.

14.01.2022 What a glorious weekend. The water is warming up (again) and the weather outside ideal. We’re swimming at Bondi next week against with the Bondi Swimming Club. Lots of fun last year, hope we can see you there!

14.01.2022 Congratulations to the winners of the 7 lapper. Brooke and Elissa managed to defend their titles in the Women’s Open and Junior finals and Bob Murray is now the new Men’s Open champion. Well done all!!! Don’t forget Championship Day next Saturday... keep an eye on your inbox for the line up.

14.01.2022 It was quite refreshing in the pool this morning. Congrats to everyone who was brave & swam the 7 lapper. I hope you’ve warmed up!!

13.01.2022 Sunday afternoon at Bronte The committee met this afternoon to form a Covid-19 safe plan for our swimming season 20/21. An email will be sent with all the details soon. 13.01.2022 Another stunning day at Bronte pool with some hot competition and photo finishes

12.01.2022 POOL CLOSURE Sadly the pool is closed for maintenance & it won’t be fixed & cleaned by the morning. Therefore we will have to cancel our races. Enjoy your sleep in. See you next week.

12.01.2022 Good news swimming fans... the pool is OPEN! Just in time for the 7 lapper final tomorrow. See you all for racing tomorrow morning.

11.01.2022 Due to 1.9 high tide at 8.20am plus expected 2-3m swell races are cancelled tomorrow. Guilt free sleep in listening to the rain. See everyone next week for a sausage sizzle.

11.01.2022 Great day for a walk by the sea

11.01.2022 The pool was surprisingly calm today given the high tide and gnarly sea state. We managed to swim all the races with only a little bit of involuntary lane switching mid-race...

10.01.2022 Pool was pristine and the perfect temp today. Plenty of people kept clear with the looming storm clouds, which quickly dispersed. Lots of swimmers trying new races today. Another great morning at the pool! #bronteswimming #autumn #getdowntobronte

10.01.2022 Due to an extreme thunderstorm warning swimming club is cancelled today. Pool still looks beautiful but stay in bed with a coffee. See you next Saturday!

10.01.2022 Saturday is the battle of the beaches. Bondi Amateur Swimming Club will be joining us for races, relays and bbq afterwards. Send a message to the WhatsApp group if you’re running late. See you on the blocks!

09.01.2022 Butterfly today was a highlight

09.01.2022 A little moody and wet outside the pool this morning but nothing we couldn’t handle! We were visited by a big pool of dolphins, trying to join in the races. Another great morning down at Bronte pool. #eveyonewelcome #bronteswimmers #whatareyouwaitingfor

09.01.2022 Hello all, We’ve had a special request which I am sure we could help out with especially in the current times: I'm wondering if anyone at Bronte Swimming club might help me out with a photo for an online memorial for a guy who used to swim at Bronte pool all the time - he moved out of sydney years ago but swam in the pool daily for the 8 years he was in sydney I'm not in Sydney so i cant get the photo - but if anyone is able to I would love to get a photo of a lit candle w...ith the pool in the background If anyone is going to the pool over the next few days if you could take a candle down with you for a photo I’m sure the family would appreciate it.

08.01.2022 Good news... the water has warmed up! Race of the day was 90m freestyle Heat 4, closely followed by 30m junior. Another lovely morning of swimming.

08.01.2022 Hello Swimmers! Swimming club starts: SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER Register 845am outside the club house near the pool. ... Everyone welcome!! It will be lovely to you all. Let’s hope the sun is shining!

08.01.2022 Even in rain & a howling southerly, it was all smiles & business as usual at the pool today. These swimmers are unstoppable!

08.01.2022 Today we swam our plum pudding & family races to celebrate Christmas. Thanks for everyone who joined in, it was a lovely morning at the pool. Chris & Brooke Hickman 38.59 4. Andrew & Ellisa Hook 40.31 5. Nigel & Grace Marsh 43.25 Huge congrats also to everyone who swam in the piggy back race. It’s such a crowd pleaser but it’s a very long, hard 30m! Well done. We are back racing in the 5th January 2019. Have a very safe & Merry Christmas.

07.01.2022 Update: apparently there were issues with the pump and the LOW low tide. Should be filled later this arvo PSA our beloved is closed again this morning. Was closed yesterday for cleaning but appears it hasn’t reopened. No word from council yet...

07.01.2022 We had some extra special guest members join in swimming this morning. We’re dolphinately happy to have them back anytime.

07.01.2022 Cyclone Uesi is creating spectacular seas this week. Tide is low T 8am so the pool should be open. Problem this week is that pool could not be cleaned due to the seas. The water is a deep green. We have decided to postpone bbq for a week. Races may be on depending on conditions in the morning.

07.01.2022 Huzzah... the pool will be reopening. Still restricted to 10 people max... but our beloved is back.

06.01.2022 What a glorious morning at the pool! Thanks to everyone who attended the AGM. One important point made was we need to be able to start the races earlier & keep them flowing. ... Please be at the club room on Saturday by 845am. **Registration will close at 9am sharp** Call if you are running late, we don’t want you to miss out on a race & this will help us start sooner. Have a wonderful week, let’s hope the water stays as beautiful as it was today!

06.01.2022 The finish of the men’s 120m Medley. Absolutely brilliant. Congratulations Phil & Nathan!!

06.01.2022 Ahhh Bronte in winter glory. But rough in the pewl... but always beautiful

04.01.2022 It’s always beautiful at Bronte, but today was extra special. The water temp was so warm it was almost too warm. Let’s hope it stays that way a little bit longer. Thanks to everyone involved in arranging the BBQ. It was lovely to sit around & have a chat. Just a perfect Saturday morning. Enjoy your week.

04.01.2022 We welcomed the sun back to Bronte this week! Such a beaut way to start the weekend. Jealous? Then make sure to get yourself down to the pool next weekend. #bronteswimmingclub #everyonewelcome

03.01.2022 A busy morning around the pool today with hints of summer in the air. Some heated races and close finishes, particularly in the butterfly. Another great morning at bronte pool. #bronteswimmingclub #everyonewelcome

03.01.2022 In case anyone was wondering, yes the pool is closed. Pretty epic surf out there today. The majesty of the sea on display in full force today.

03.01.2022 The pool is closed today so we won’t be able to swim our races. Grab a coffee & come & watch the big waves instead!

03.01.2022 Club Championship Day What a sensational finish to our 2018/19 season. Congratulations to everyone who swam. There were some really exciting finishes. It’s great to see everyone push to the end. ... A special shout out to all our little (& some not so little anymore) kids who have put in a massive effort all season. They’ve swum extra laps & included extra strokes. The adults better do some off season training because these kids are only getting faster!! Sending huge thanks to all our officials & time keepers today. It ran smoothly & we couldn’t have done it with you. To everyone who helped in other ways, putting in lane ropes, taking photos, bringing Easter chocolate & party food thank you thank you thank you!! We have a lovely spirit at the club. It always feels sad to finish when the weather is still warm & sunny but I think we will be happy for the sleep in as it starts to get cooler. We will post as soon as Presentation night is booked. It will be wonderful to see everyone dry & dressed. Thanks again for a great day. Here are some happy snaps of our championship.

02.01.2022 If anyone is free today there is a beach clean up

02.01.2022 Pool is closed under a brooding sky

01.01.2022 COVID-19 UPDATE Hi Bronte swimming family, I know that nothing usually stops our swimming however, I’ve thoughtfully considered what has been cancelled in the last few days, in terms of school sports/training/events & how we have just had our biggest percentage spike in cases of Covid-19 in the last 24hrs. ... As much as it breaks my heart. I feel that our club needs to show we take the health & wellbeing of our members & wider community seriously. Sadly all offical races will be cancelled for the rest of the season. Championship Day could potentially be our Spring Carnival but we have plenty of time to workshop ideas on how to make it special & make up for lost time. I spoke with Beki & the Bronte Surf Club has set some very firm rules regarding closures & cancellations. I feel that things are possibly going to change over the next few weeks & safety must come first. If this is being too conservative & time proves that this call is too over protective I promise everyone a glass of bubbles & we can laugh at how silly I am. No doubt there will still be a few of us who will go for our swim as per usual on a Saturday morning & at this stage, the ocean still seems to be its usual healing, magical self. Katie mentioned if anyone needs anything that her & Andrew are around to help, I would like to second that for Jim & I as well. Our club is incredibly special, we are in this together & it shall pass (eventually). We will race again. Any questions/suggestions just reach out. Stay healthy, wash your hands & go easy on the loo paper. Love Brooke

01.01.2022 I mean come on, how beaut is this? The pool and swimmers were in great form this morning. What a stunning day! #bronteswimming #everyonewelcome
