17.01.2022 The question has arisen if there will be any Somerset Region Pre- Polling Booths for this upcoming State election. I can confirm the request has been made of ECQ to support Somerset Region Pre-Polling booths. However, ECQ will determine the outcome of the locations. There is no guarantee Somerset, as part of the Nanango electorate will see the request fulfilled. #StateElections
17.01.2022 ECQ have released the latest pre-polling booth locations, ignoring the greater needs of Somerset. One pre-polling booth in Fernvale, one Pre-Polling booth in Woodford. Other option is Postal vote. Register for yours if you have difficulties or concerns in traveling to either Pre Polling booth. #qldelection

16.01.2022 This beautiful gentlemen is my Great Uncle. Uncle Terry survived a point blank range firing squad as a captured soldier, POW in Changi. As a child I did not know the truth of his ordeal. I only knew I could never ask him about his war experiences. While he survived, and he suffered, he always responded to my letters throughout the many years we corresponded. Always in my heart, I am forever grateful for all those who have fought for our collective futures.... In Memory of the many fallen. Rest In Peace.

09.01.2022 As the Kilcoy roadworks progress, December 17 will see the two lanes of William St opened and the Stop sign reinstated at the Mary St intersection. Where ever possible and safe to do so, the safety barriers will be removed. Our local businesses need our buying support so spend local this Christmas.... The roadworks will recommence late Jan 2021 with completion date April 2021. Please drive in accordance with directions for your safety and safety of others.

07.01.2022 As a member of this advisory group I agree with the premise that as a Legacy project owned by Seqwater, a makeover is required to ensure the building is fit for purpose. A restaurant once again. When I first moved to Somerset Region, my new friends took me to Cormorant Bay Restaurant for lunch. A most delightful experience. Coronavirus has impacted financial decision making. This legacy is bigger than any financial consideration alone. To make good will bring so much economic benefit to the region.

06.01.2022 Local government working alongside local business communities is the best way to ensure engaged participation in areas of economic development. Somerset needs a strong Chamber aka business voice to ensure open and constructive communication over policy and regulations that impact business operations. I and others are working towards this but it will take effort and participation from our whole Somerset business community to be successful in this space.
