15.01.2022 Dear Jas, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you Jasmine for her past 10 years at the salon. I first meet Jas when our daughters started Kindergarten together. We were both Nail Techs and I was about to open my salon and so it went from there. We have shared so many memories over these past 10 years, both with our girls, our families and working together almost every day.... We have shared sadness, loss and tragedy. We have supported each other when things got tough, and this won’t change Jas. I have no doubt that the girls at the salon and I will miss you heaps. We will miss teasing you when you couldn’t reach things out of the kitchen cupboard, we’ll miss the chandelier story that got better and better each time (sorry Adam). We’ll miss that laugh of yours and the stories you told and the friendship amongst us.. Omg... Who will Eddie the Elf pick on at Xmas time.???? I, as a fellow Nail Tech will miss learning tit bits from you. You have this amazing passion for your craft and I hope this never goes, you are amazing at what you create in your nail art and those bazaar nail shapes, always trying new ways to be creative. 10.01.2022 Call out for help by Vinnies! St Martin’s Primary School are accepting donations on behalf of Brookvale Vinnies for much needed baby supplies. In the current climate, Brookvale Vinnies have run out of nappies and associated baby items and have had many mums on their doorstop needing help but have had to turn them away, which has been devastating to the staff and volunteers at Vinnies. ... Things that are in desperate need are: Nappies: Newborn, 6-11kg and 10-15 kg Nappy Pants. Nappy rash powders and cream Baby wipes Baby formula Baby bath wash Baby bottles (BPA free) Baby food as well as any tinned food. St Martin’s Primary School, Prahran Ave, Davidson will have a contactless drop off box outside the front foyer between 9.30am and 2.30pm Mon to Fri until June 5th. Pls drop off between those times to allow smooth sailing for student drop offs in the morning and pick ups in the afternoon. The plastic tub is outside the school glass doors - not to be mistaken with the large metal Vinnies bin which you will see on your way in next to the church. The school has a drive-thru system. When entering the school, pls turn left on the driveway and drive clockwise past the back of the church around to the front office - stopping at the front. If you can help, Vinnies would really appreciate it. Thank you in advance x

08.01.2022 There was an announcement yesterday in regards to part of the beauty industry being able to reopen. I would like to let you know where I stand on this. The announcement is VERY vague to say the least. We are all interpreting it in many different ways. There are so many grey areas even NSW Health are giving varying degrees of advice. My understanding is that only registered mobile service can operate, I am obviously not a mobile service. ... So at this point I will be waiting on clarification and guidelines before I offer any home services. I’ll keep you posted. These are my personal thought and I have no judgment on how others move forward on this matter. Stay safe

06.01.2022 As frustrating as it is... we have no idea when we will re-open.. We are, at this point, in Phase 2. This will happen when the NSW Premier announces the date. Unfortunately we are not permitted to work from home or provide a mobile home service. In the meantime, you’ll be pleased to know that we are working on some changes in the salon and on new Covid-19 Protocols. So we will be READY to open when given the go ahead. ... Thank you all, for your messages & support throughout our closure and for being so patient as we all wait for the beauty industry to re-open. We can’t wait to see you all again. 06.01.2022 Ok it’s the start of a new week and so much to do.. Most of you know me well enough to know that I can’t sit still for too long. I need to be doing something.!! During this forced time off, I’ve been busy in the salon... refreshing it..let’s say.... and NO I haven’t painted it a new colour again..! You’ll all have to wait and see what I’m doing. Most importantly we are working on our new salon protocols. All our nail tables are now 1.5 meters apart, our pedicure chairs... are doing their part in complying with social distancing too. We will keep you up to date via Facebook, Instagram but most importantly Email, the girls and I are madly trying to get all your emails up to date, if you think we may not have yours please contact any of us, leave a message on the salon phone or PM me. 06.01.2022 As you may have heard last night, Beauty is included in phase 2 of the recovery plan. What does this mean?? It means we need to sit tight and wait and see what NSW will do with it. 01.01.2022 Wow, 10 years ago today I opened the doors to my salon. I was a little nervous, as I didn’t know how it would go at this little centre called Yindela Street Shops, what was I thinking... but I didn’t need to be so nervous, I have gained so many great friends with in the centre and have the most amazing clients that have supported myself and the salon, some from the very begin and many new ones, I have also been supported by my fantastic co-workers past and present, my family ...have been my rock.. supporting me from the very beginning of my dream, the hard work from setting up, painting & building it all, a big thanks to Rene & Bj for doing the hard work in the beginning & Cassie, a little young to help. All my family who have always been there for me through the good times and bad. I appreciate everyone of you. I feel very lucky.. TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE SUPPORTED AND HELP OVER THE 10 YEARS. THANK YOU

01.01.2022 As governments are trying to figure out how to ease back into a new normal, please remember: Some people don’t agree with the suggested reopening.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some people are still planning to stay at home.... that’s okay. Be kind. Some are still scared of getting the virus and a second wave happening.... that’s okay. Be kind.... Some are sighing with relief to go back to work knowing they may possibly save their business or their homes....that’s okay. Be kind. Some are thankful they can finally have a surgery they have put off....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will be able to attend interviews after weeks without a job....that’s okay. Be kind. Some will wear masks for weeks....that’s okay. Be kind. Some people will rush out to get the hair or nails done.... that’s okay. Be kind. The point is, everyone has different viewpoints/feelings and that’s okay. Be kind. We each have a different story. If you need to stay home, stay home. But be kind. If you need to go out, just respect others when in public and be kind! Don’t judge fellow humans because you’re not in their story.
