21.01.2022 The trivia night is filling fast. Be sure to book your spot by paying for your ticket, as per the flyer below, before we have to limit numbers due to the hall capacity.
21.01.2022 Two weeks to go until this great event. I urge you to consider this fundraiser for drought relief.
20.01.2022 Are you over 50 and looking for companionship? Stitch.net could be for you. Stitch is a community run meeting place where members organise many ways to get together, walks, picnics, meals and coffee gatherings. These can be one on one or in groups. The sky is the limit. There is no cost, and it is safe as your identity has be validated.... Loneliness is terrible and this could be a way to find some friends and avoid the potentially devastating effects of being alone. Go to the website and checkout the video. Or you could join a Rotary Club!
19.01.2022 Good friend of Brookfield Rotary, Josh Langdon, is once again organising the Nic MacBean Cup in support of men's health. It is on 5 December in the afternoon at BBC in T20 format. We would love you to attend and add to the coffers in support of this very worthy cause.
15.01.2022 The date has been set, the venue booked! Come along and join us at the Brookfield Hall on 29 February 2020 for our trivia quiz. Wonderful prizes and awesome trivia! Funds raised will go towards Western Cluster of Rotary clubs' initiatives to help victims and reduce domestic violence.
13.01.2022 Folks today is the day for making a donation to the Rotary Foundation, "Giving Tuesday". There is no bad day to make a donation, perhaps for someone else, or as a gift or secret santa. Please consider.
11.01.2022 What a fabulous result we had from the trivia night. Aren't we lucky we got it in in February! Probably the last fundraising for a while. Congratulations and thankyou to all participants and sponsors. Together you contributed to a net profit of about $8200! Absolutely wonderful. This money is all destined for projects related to reducing or protecting victims of domestic violence. The first $6000 has been allocated to emergency packs, food vouchers, accommodation and animal c...are mostly through "DV Connect" and some mentoring and counselling services through "Broken to Brilliant" The remainder will go to a larger project (yet to be determined) through the Western suburbs combined Rotary clubs and hopefully matched from greater Rotary resources so we really get value from the donation. Thanks again for your participation and helping this small club to once again "punch above its weight" and really do some good in our community.
07.01.2022 July 1st saw President Kelvin hand over the reins to President Brian for the 2020 - 21 year. Our membership enjoyed the black tie affair in a chilly Brookfield Hall. Congratulations Brian and best wishes for the year ahead to you and your team.
07.01.2022 As the time arrives to reopen and move away from the restrictions of the dreaded virus it is time to think of the businesses that supported us at our trivia night. Most of these are small businesses that were so very generous when approached in February. Now it our time be generous in return and help these companies get back on their feet and prosper in the future. I urge you to support them.... 06.01.2022 ANZAC tribute. Very moving. Lest we forget.
05.01.2022 Nathalia de Chermont gave a great account of her time in Weipa as a trainee nurse, in receipt of a Feros grant. These grants are administered by Toowong Rotary club and supported by Brookfield and others of the Western cluster of clubs.Several nurses and medical students go to remote places to experience the life and variety of medical conditions there. Nathalia already has two degrees and is completing the nursing qualification in Melbourne. She is a very impressive lady and will be an asset to any medical facility. We wish her well.
01.01.2022 This is another project being supported by Brookfield Rotary in support of the homeless. Donations of toiletries and non perishable foodstuffs are requested. Collection point is at Church of Christ, 41 Brookfield road in Kenmore.
