23.01.2022 Day 2 Fraser Island Year 6 Camp. Enjoyed a delicious buffet breakfast before heading off to discover Eli Creek and SS Maheno ship wreck.

22.01.2022 Has your child ever visited the Makerspace section in the library at first break? There are always a number of different activities they can do and senior students are on hand to assist them if required. Last week students had fun planting seeds in individual ‘greenhouses’ which have been hung up on the veranda. We can’t wait to watch them grow!

20.01.2022 Pick Up Zones this afternoon Monday, 22 March - Creek over the road U-turn around gum tree Delay pick up if possible Turn left only onto Brookfield Road and go around roundabout at the end to turn right... Thank you for your amazing, patient, considerate use of the House Pick Up Zones to date. We will meet this next challenge well - The creek is currently over the road at the Rafting Ground Rd end of Boscombe Road. Please drive AROUND the gum tree you can see in the photo (below) to do a u-turn to join the queue for your children’s House Pick Up Zone. If you can delay pick up to 3:05/3:10pm, please consider doing so. With the two-way traffic, it may not be possible to drive around other house’s pick up queues. We’ll do our best to call cars around. Please only turn LEFT onto Brookfield Road when leaving. Turning right will back up traffic and affect everyone on Boscombe Road. You can turn right by turning LEFT and going all the way around the roundabout at the end of Brookfield Road. This will significantly assist the flow of traffic. Thank you for your consideration.

20.01.2022 Swimming Carnival today for students in grades 3-6. Remember to bring togs, a rashie (if you don’t have one a shirt is fine), a broad brimmed hat, apply sunscreen (more sunscreen will be available at the pool) and a large water bottle.

20.01.2022 For World Teachers' Day, 1C students took over the teaching reigns and gave Miss Noonan "the day off". All lessons were well prepared and delivered with professionalism and enthusiasm. These young "supply teachers" taught number facts, Latvian phrases, craft, singing with sign language, animal and environmental lessons, throwing and catching skills, how to care for guinea pigs and they also read stories. It was a great day!

12.01.2022 Salvation Army Food Drive 2020 Hello. My name is Emma and I am 10 years old. Last year, with the help of Brookfield State School and the Brookfield community, I managed to collect over 1000 food items to give to people in need at Christmas. This year with COVID, there are many people who are finding it very hard to provide for their families. I am again asking for your help to support these families by donating a few non-perishable items which could make a difference this Christmas. You can donate by either dropping items in to the office at Brookfield State School, or by leaving them at my door at 62 Kintyre Street, Brookfield by Monday 14th December. Please help and we can help everyone have a Merry Christmas. Thank you for your support and generosity. Emma.

09.01.2022 Grade 5 and 6 students have been studying poetry this term. There is a Slam poetry contest next week ((see info attached). Slam poetry is a form of performance poetry that combines the elements of performance, writing, competition, and audience participation. Blackout poetry is when a page of text is completely blacked out (colored over with permanent marker so that it is no longer visible) except for a select few words. When only these words are visible, a brand new story is created from the existing text. Here are some amazing examples photos from our senior students.

Amelia shared that if she wanted to "bump her procedure up" to the highest level she would use verbs and adverbs! 1A perfected their Procedure writing and earnt the treat of following one. They enjoyed following the steps of "How to Make Tiger Bread". Better still...they enjoyed eating the infamous Tiger Bread!
