23.01.2022 It is a real honour to be a part of this day of remembrance. Every year following the service at Kenmore, Brookfield United, with the Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner as our Patron, takes on Army in a cricket match to commemorate the match held in 1915 at Gallipoli. This year, in a close match, Brookfield managed to take the honours making it the third year in a row to remain undefeated since adopting the Lord Mayor as our Patron. This event wouldnt be the great day that it is ...without the support of the 4069 community and the sponsors Qld Cricketers Club, The Gabba NAB Consult Invest Build and Queensland Cricket. Thank you also to The Rich Pour Espresso Bar for providing the coffee and Brookfield Horse and Pony Club for the food. #lestweforget #shellgreen #t20

23.01.2022 A great way to cap off a great season. Today our B1 team (5/287) defeated West Brisbane (83) in the Grand Final. On what could be described as a batters paradise (at least by Sub Districts standard) our bowlers did an amazing job with Manny being the pick of the bowlers taking 6/19 and restricting West Brisbane to a total of 83. His plan to not use the pitch and rely on full tosses worked a treat accounting for 3 of his 6 wickets.... With the bat we got off to a solid start racing to 28 off 5 overs before the loss of our first wicket. After another wicket fell soon after, Pravin and Gus put on a batting masterclass both notching up half centuries (81 and 59 respectively). Useful contributions from our captain Al (40 not out), Steve (35), Finn (29 not out) and Tim (20) saw Brookfield post their highest total of the season just 5 wickets down. Congrats to all the boys Chris Read Finn Read Spencer Cook Benji Lynch Avanka Peiris Pravin Ramanaden Stephen Braithwaite Tim McGuire Alastair Lynch Luke Morris Harry Stephens Manny Lynch Angus Cowan A massive shout out to our sponsors National Storage and Professional Collection Services for their kind support.

18.01.2022 Hi all, The easing of restrictions this weekend to allow gatherings of up to 100 applies to personal gatherings (eg home), weddings, and funerals. This is detailed in the attached Roadmap to easing Restrictions attached. For community sporting clubs such as Brookfield, off the field (whilst in or around the clubhouse) we must abide by social distancing guidelines. This means everyone is to give a space of 1.5m to the next person and a total space over 4m2 per person. The ver...andah is approx 75-80m2 so that means no more than 18-20 people on the verandah. Scorers are to be positioned under the gazebo/marquee for three reasons. Firstly so that we dont have tables set up on the verandah making social distancing difficult with the reduction in space. Secondly, it lessens the risk of others not adhering to social distancing requirements by looking directly over the scorers should (as seen all the time). Thirdly, this should make it easier to score as there will be fewer distractions for the scorers and then, hopefully, for the first time in history scorebooks may actually balance. PLEASE NOTE regarding using the nets. These are NOT BUCC nets and are located on school grounds. We have reached out to the school regarding the use of the nets but havent heard back. If you use the nets you do so at your own risk and not as a member of the Club. These are difficult and unusual times and we, as a Committee, are doing our best to provide a safe place for players to get back to play cricket whilst also protecting the Club. Please note, we are all in this together which includes the other team. In terms of our approach, it is not BUCC v others, it is what can we do to ensure the safety of all who play out at Brookfield. After all, without an opposing team or umpires, we do not have a game of cricket, and isnt that what we all want. Regards, Management https://www.covid19.qld.gov.au//roadmap-to-easing-queensla.
