21.01.2022 There’s something just so captivating about having a TREE in one’s lounge room. Maybe it has something to do with boasting rights that you’ve been able to keep the thing alive for years at a time despite the odds, or the fact that it’s a statement piece that designer furniture just can’t replicate - but either way, they make my heart swell. Anyone else love an indoor tree in your lounge room?
20.01.2022 Back in Sydney-town after a crazy 36 hour extravaganza working with a client at one of their corporate training events. After a freezing few days it's good to be back slightly further north taking in some sunshine.
18.01.2022 I could sit for hours and watch the morning light filter in - with a cup of coffee in hand of course! It’s food for my soul. There’s something about the addition of greenery that brings a sense of calm to my heart - especially when on on holidays staying with my sister in her brand new build at @burleighbungalow! Her design eye is definitely worth a follow, you might even be able to steal a little bit of exhale at the same time!
18.01.2022 All the heart eyes (and plants) today as I’m skipping town and heading to weather weather for a holiday with the kiddos! Just gotta work out now who’s gonna water my plants while I’m away coz that’s a real conundrum!
17.01.2022 Love a little self-care Sunday! When you love what you do it’s so easy to find ways to constantly work - because it fills your ‘happy’ tank up... but make sure you’re finding ways to switch off and shut your computer! Your Monday will thank you for it! via @seewantshop
16.01.2022 *Goes to plant nursery’s even on holidays and finds new plants to smuggle home. Spotted this stunning #monsteraadansonii in a tiny nursery this afternoon and I’m now trying to work out how to get it home on my carry on luggage undetected. Can anyone tell me if I’m allowed to bring this plant interstate in Australia?
15.01.2022 I’ve always loved cactus - and love seeing them styled inside in interior mags and stores... but the reality is - cactus aren’t designed to live inside our perfectly styled living rooms, away from the sun and outdoor elements. Without sun, they slowly but surely start to die and while it might take a while for it to happen, it inevitably always does. If you want to have cactus inside, your best bet is positioning it right next to a bright window that gets at least ...gets some direct sunlight throughout the day. Another option is to periodically rotate your plants so they spend a week inside and a week out to maintain optimum health... This is my favourite option because it allows me to buy two plants which live on constant rotation - which is a win win in my book! See more

13.01.2022 Over the past few years, this account has been somewhat of a ‘plaything’... A place to turn up anonymously and share thoughts or beautiful images and connect with likeminded people. It’s been a place where the things I love ie plants, business, style, books and adventure etc can coexist without a huge amount of purpose other than they make me smile. Without the pressure of having to sell something! Ha! ... I’ve largely neglected this account due to the complexities of running two businesses and managing life and two ever growing kids... However I haven’t been able to shake how much I’ve missed you all. So today I figured now is the time to turn up. To say hi. To share a photo of the real me and introduce myself. I’m Shannon. I’m a Sydney-sider. I run a company that helps parents teach languages to their preschool aged kids called @theculturedkid plus I’m also a freelance online marketing strategist. I love good design and beautiful things however I often find myself constantly trying to simplify the chaos that surrounds me in my tiny Balmain cottage... and also in my life. My happy place is championing budding female entrepreneurs and creators and helping them to see what’s really possible. In fact my extrovert self LOVES it! I love community which is why I decided to turn up and say hi! Would love to get to know you and hear your story. See more
13.01.2022 I had a conversation this week with an incredibly amazing, high capacity woman who struggled with self judgement. Everyone in her world would look at her and marvel as her capacity and strength, yet she struggles celebrating her successes. If this is your story... be reminded that you are lovelier than you think and are doing better than you can imagine.... There’s a lot to be said for being intentional about being kind to yourself. I hope today you’ll take a moment to celebrate the wins and give yourself grace for the areas you’re still growing in. by @designbywas See more

10.01.2022 If you find yourself asking, can I really do this? Do I really have what it takes, chances are you do. The counterfeit innovator is wildly self confident. The real one is scared to death. - Steven Pressfield So get to work, take one step forward towards the very thing that makes you tremble, get it over and done with and realize that not only did it not kill you, but you just conquered fear. Then get comfortable doing it again and again... You'll be surprised at what you create.

09.01.2022 Loving the morning light that streams into my home first thing in the morning and I think my rubber plant does too! A little morning sun doesn’t hurt this guy but place it in full sun during the day and you’ll quickly burn the leaves and watch them fall off!
08.01.2022 Never not grouping clusters of greenery around my house... mainly coz there’s too many of them and not enough space to have just one plant on its own! Give me a if you struggle with too many plants and not enough space too.
06.01.2022 Morning light at the start of a new week! This morning I’m taking a few minutes to stop and breathe before the week officially kicks off. I’m always surprised at how much more productive I am when I start my day with a little coffee and time to let my mind wander. I’m typically a ‘look at my phone first thing’ kinda girl but I’ve recently been challenged to leave my phone in a different part of my home and not look at it until 8am. So tough to break old habits but I’m lo...ving the outcomes when I manage to do it! This week kids are back at school and I’ve got some exciting projects I’m finalising for @theculturedkid! Would love to hear what you’ve got planned. xx #sydney #entrepreneur #via @paramounthousehotel See more
