20.01.2022 I would firstly like to thank the community of Broome for your support since my opening at the beginning of this year. It is with a heavy heart and much deliberation that I have decided to temporarily shut the doors of Broome Physio. I understand that the government has requested that Physiotherapy Practices stay open for the time being. However I believe, as a well managed but severe asthmatic, I myself must do whats best for myself and the community of Broome. I do not ...have symptoms, it is not about that, this is about prevention. Things are developing in Western Australia day by day and now more than ever is the time for everyone, whoever they are, to self isolate, stay at home, walk on a deserted beach.. please take it seriously!!!! As a healthcare professional, supporting the GPs and Hospital are at the forefront of my mind, to stop the spread and to ease the burden. For this I am setting up Telehealth as we speak, this should be available at the start of next week and at an extremely reduced price (not for profit), for Broome residents and surrounding towns and communities. What is Telehealth? it is an Online Physio Consultation, the same as how you would skype your friends and family, it can be done on your phone or your laptop, but different software will be used, specific to Physiotherapy and highly encrypted and confidential. For Broome Physio/myself, the purpose of telehealth is to take the pressure off the GPs and the hospital in this town and is something I feel very strongly about with everything going on. If you have a sore lower back, neck pain, a pinchy shoulder, you have injured yourself You dont need to go to ED right now, or put yourself on the GPs ever expanding waitlist. I can help, Physios are highly experienced in diagnosing your problem and working out what is wrong with you. It can be very effectively done this way! I will review what is happening in Broome following the Easter break and keep you all posted with regards to the Physical Practice. As soon as its safe for me as an individual and for the community as a whole the doors of Broome Physio will be open again! Stay safe and take care Broome. Hannah Park, Physiotherapist.
