08.01.2022 The future stars of Brosnan Academy #irishdance #beginneririshdancing

06.01.2022 Today we received the offical, yet devastating news that the World Championships is cancelled for 2020. It’s hard to swallow and accept after the hours and months of blood, sweat and tears that were put into training and perfecting our dances. Not to mention the parties, friends and family gatherings etc that were missed. Or the constant juggling of dancing, school/uni work and part-time jobs. However, we believe that no hard work is wasted. The amount of hours put into train...ing and your determination and dedication during this time, has made you all the dancers you are today and will be carried on throughout the years. It’s upsetting to not be able to put that hard work onto stage and achieve goals that were set, but little set backs like this make you a stronger and more resilient person. We are truly gutted and heart broken for our dancers. We know how hard you have worked and the hours put in, but we are all in this together. So we have to stay strong, continue to work hard and smash those goals, but most importantly, remember why we do Irish Dancing. We do it for the love of it, but most importantly, all of the friendships that are created! Please know that we are beyond proud of you all. This journey has been so rewarding for us as teachers, as we have watched you all improve ridiculous amounts as dancers and also grow and develop into amazing athletes and people. Let’s continue this journey Big love to you all See more

04.01.2022 A chairde, In keeping with An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha’s pledge to keep you updated on the current crises and contingency plans, we announce the following: T...here were no suitable dates available later in 2020 to reschedule the Worlds therefore the 50th Championships will take place the week of Easter 2021. - Oireachtas Rince na hEireann will take place in the INEC, Killarney between 13th and 20th February 2021. - Oireachtas Rince na Cruinne will take place in the Convention Centre, Dublin between 28th March and 5th April 2021. The proposed days only timetable for both will be published on Monday, 23rd March 2020. The syllabus for each is currently being progressed and will be distributed as soon as they can be ratified. However, the Oireachtas Committee have agreed the most pressing matters as below: 1. Solo Dances will change as normal. Therefore if a dancer was scheduled to dance Reel and Hornpipe in 2020, they will be required to dance Slip Jig and Jig in 2021. 2. Dancers will be expected to attempt to qualify as normal via their primary and secondary events later in the year. However, where a qualifier for 2020 fails to qualify for the 2021 Championships, they will be able to fall back on their 2020 place. 3. The required parts of Ceili Dances will also switch. All other decisions regarding adjudication panels, musicians will be decided at a later time. Massive efforts are continuing to be made in regards the ongoing situation in relation to hotels. We wish all our competitors, their families and loved ones good health during this horrible pandemic and urge everyone to continue to follow closely the advices being issued on a daily basis from their respective governments. forwarded via James McCutcheon SDCRG Chairman Oireachtas Committee An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha
