25.01.2022 A reminder to all "junior" players. Ahead of the Polo camp we will have a games only session on Saturday. Be there at 11.30 if you can make it. Seniors...do you want to practice refereeing/coaching? or maybe just want to support the younger club players? Be there...chose a role. We could use up to four coaches and at least two referees. Time keepers also useful.

24.01.2022 A little reminder to all players to get their memberships up to date - the PA system is up and running. Don't miss out! Remember that your membership needs to be up to date to join in competitions. Summer season is coming soon!

23.01.2022 Nationals Day 2 Too busy to keep track of all of the results. More to follow later. All teams are going well, winning some, drawing some, losing fewer. QLD is definitely a presence at the comp, all teams earning plenty of respect. Jack Steel stole the show for photo of the day. Yes, it is penalty, but sometimes it's worth it.

23.01.2022 ALL PLAYERS Please note the change of venue for Sunday's games. These will now be at the ATC Pool - first game 10.00am

22.01.2022 OK, presents opened, food coma done with, it's time to active again! Next round of summer comp is at Springfield January 5. Can you please respond via the Team App to let me know if you are coming This prior to the first training session for the year, so we will all probably be a little slow. That is fine. This will be a fun morning to spend time with your friends and get started again.

22.01.2022 QLD winter series Round 1 is just over a month away. Mark the date: July 14th!

21.01.2022 I know it seems a little boring...The club's AGM is on Saturday 1st June. This is where we make decisions which affect how the club works, how players are supported, how coaching works, how we communicate. If you care about any of these things, come and have your say...

20.01.2022 There are no promises here about what might come out of this. What can happen will depend entirely on player response. Anyone about 17+ should think about where they would like to go with polo.

20.01.2022 New web site for Brothers Canoe Club We have struggled for years with the official club website, which is embedded in the Paddle Australia web site. That one is controlled by Paddle Australia and provides individual clubs with virtually no control over layout or content. Brothers Canoe Club have decided to create their own web site. This will contain a lot of information which is difficult to promote through social pages, and to provide parents and players a resource to k...eep them informed and connected with what is happening. Please have a look at our new home, https://brotherscanoeclub.com.au/ This should also work well on mobile devices. Please note that this is a completely new site, and we are all learning as we go. Accordingly, it is a bit raw at the moment, and we expect that it will undergo many changes as we go along. However, that is also the beauty to us. Unlike our other site, we can change this around to be whatever we think it needs to be. We will be pleased to hear suggestions for improvement, and we intend that the site will always be changing to suit the club needs. The Facebook page will also continue, but that format is better suited to short term communications rather than a long-term resource centre. Both have their place. Those who cannot/will not use Facebook no longer need to miss out. Between the two we should be able to capture all needs.

19.01.2022 All packed up for an early start tomorrow. Thus the annual pilgrimage begins. Brothers/Queensland players depart for the Australian Canoe Polo championships tomorrow and Friday. A large contingent staying on for the Oceania Championships as well. Looking forward to a lot of fun and excitment in Sydney.

18.01.2022 State Championships This is approaching fast. Make sure you get your nomination in as soon as possible. This is not a social event, you will need to let the club know (via Team App or email) if you want to join a team.

17.01.2022 A reminder to those who have not renewed their membership for the current year. In order to train and to play in competitions in the new year you will need to renew your membership, otherwise you will be ineligible. New players and anyone who is having difficulties can talk to me about their standing.

13.01.2022 All Brothers players - and especially parents of juniors - are urged to respond to this poll. The proposed dates have the last day of competition on the date for return to school. A number of players and parents have already responded to say "NO - this does not suit". If you are even considering playing at the nationals next year I urge you to respond or Queensland juniors may be unable to take part. If you can't do this from this post please refer back to the Australian Canoe Polo page.

12.01.2022 A note to all club players/parents/supporters. Please note that the club supports and adheres to the Paddle Queensland Code of Conduct. We expect that everybody at the club acts and talks in a way acceptable under this charter. A copy of the Code can be found on the web site under "downloads".

11.01.2022 Summer Games... There are no plans for national level competitions, development camps or the like for the rest of this year, and early part of 2021. There will also be little to no chance of visitors from interstate for our competitions. Accordingly, we will need to make our fun for the time being. We have decided to call the LAST SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH FROM NOW UNTIL MARCH 2021 A GAMES DAY. December only will be excluded. There would be no junior training on the Saturday... immediately preceding these games days. The idea is that you will have to nominate this will be done through Team App. When we know who is playing, we will make up teams. This may be done on the morning of games but knowing who is likely to come makes life so much easier. Teams will not really follow club teams but will be aimed at providing all players with the best outcome for their skill level. We will be looking for male, female, and mixed teams whatever is most appropriate at each game day. Please keep a look out on the Team App for these under events, and respond if you would like to attend. THE FIRST WILL BE ON AUGUST 30TH 2020. The days would typically run from 9.00am to approx. 1.00pm depending on numbers. More accurate information will only be available when numbers are known At this stage, all events will be at the Springfield Regatta lake. We will notify of any changes to this. See more

09.01.2022 Congratulations to Stephen Hubbard and Alex Lowan (NZ). Yonghan Blue helmets - 2019 CPS Super League champions!! They have both given of their valuable time coaching our club players. It's a pleasure to see great things happening to good people. Club players...keep chasing your dreams.

08.01.2022 Every one who buys a burger at Grill’d Indooroopilly during September has the opportunity to vote for a local group. Each burger purchased gets a token and you get to choose between three local groups, obviously you will be voting for Brothers Canoe Polo Club!!! At the end of the month the tokens are counted and $500 is split between the groups. ($300 for first, $100 for second and third.) So get everyone you know to go to Grill'd Indooroopilly and vote for Brothers Canoe Polo Club!!!

08.01.2022 SATURDAY 19TH OCTOBER ALL players please note that due to a function at the school there will be NO TRAINING this coming Saturday.

08.01.2022 Nationals Day 1 All players and support crew arrived OK. Scrutineering and setting up for tomorrows games. 06.01.2022 It's been a while...news has been mostly bad. Now for some GOOD NEWS. The Australian women's team has been announced. We congratulate all the players who have made the team! Also John and Stacey (managers). We do need a special congratulations to the three - yes three - members of our club who made the team. They are,... 05.01.2022 Results from Round 1 of the Summer Competition. But first a huge thanks to all the A grade players who gave up some of their own time and games to play with the B grade/junior group. This was an awesome thing to do, and so appreciated by all players.

05.01.2022 I forgot to mention in the last post that April 20th is a school day - return to school from Easter hols.

04.01.2022 I know everybody has been waiting breathlessly for this to become "official" - here they are...the new rules. Even in the last month there have been a couple of subtle changes - so brush up. If you looked a month ago, it is worth a new look. If you have never looked, here is your chance. Section 10 (game rules) are the most interesting to the players, but don't forget section 15 - signals. 03.01.2022 Australian Nationals Results Brothers were highly represented in all teams. The junior teams were almost entirely Brothers players. The final placings follow. 02.01.2022 Expression of interest! Asia Cup! There is an opportunity to send an Australian team across to the Asia cup in Deqing, China October 24-27. This could be... a very good chance for some up and coming players to get some international experience. The skill level over there is high and you would get a very good challenge. Needed - someone to drive the effort. - players - air Asia will take boats. Knowing the people who will be involved running the comp I’m sure an Aussie team could be helped out with logistical planning and ways to keep costs as low as possible. If you have even a slight interest or know someone who does - please put a comment here or DM this page and we will point you in the right direction Matt Perrin, CPS Aus.
