19.01.2022 This little fela was found on the deck of Pot Luck as we where pulling pots and must have come up in some weed. He was not much bigger than a thumb nail. He or she was caught and released about 4 miles NE of Blackpoint in about 8 meters of water in March 2016. Smallest crab I have ever caught or seen as you dont see many in that depth of water.

13.01.2022 First day setting pots back with no bait tubes, re no fishing over weekends & public holidays from 1st November to 15th January, Pirsa Fisheries class having a baited pots as fishing so we will do the right thing for the fishery. Monday morning rebait and set back.

06.01.2022 Broughton Fisheries new sustainable crab pots, with the new 110mm mesh & 1750mm diameter ring. Old pots 85mm mesh & 1500mm diameter ring. These new pots let out crabs up to 12cm to escape overnight to be able to grow to the next size and also mate to help increase stocks in the fishery. We are catching crabs for the future of the Gulf St Vincent Blue Crab Pot Fishery.
