03.01.2022 This week at Broughton Street, we are exploring dental hygiene as a part of Dental Health Week. Today, the Nursery children joined Miss Elisa to explore the actions required for brushing our teeth. The children watched as Miss Elisa demonstrated the actions of moving the tooth brush up and down, from side to side and all around on the model teeth board, and shared their understandings of brushing their teeth with the group- there were a few attempts at brushing their own teet...h (for hygiene purposes, each of the children had their own new, clean tooth brush to use). As we explore Dental Health week with the Nursery children, we are encouraging and supporting the development of healthy oral habits in the children. The children are being engaged in exploring the actions of brushing their teeth, and are trying them out for themselves as they brush the teeth on the model and attempt to brush their own teeth.
