24.01.2022 Every early learning centre in Australia must have a philosophy in which the centre 'lives and breathes'. A philosophy governs all that we do and is evaluated annually to reflect current views, world affairs, educators and families. Part of our philosophy states that we aim to create a culture of kindness and respect between children, families and educators. We all need kindness in our lives no matter what age we are, but especially our kids. If you can teach your kids anyth...ing, teach them kindness. These days too many of our children are suffering because of unkind people, so let's all teach them to love and be kind. 14.01.2022 Wowsers! How grateful are we to be part of such a giving community. Hotondo homes heard (through Gemima ) about our need for some form of shelving to go ahead with our idea for a 'Boomerang Station', and today Billy came and delivered our custom-built shelving. Over the coming weeks, you will see our 'Boomerang Station' evolve, to support our goal to become as sustainable as we can at the centre.... Tayliah brings a fresh, energetic and bubbly persona to our team and is super keen to learn and grow in our industry. 09.01.2022 At BELC we believe that the children's education should help them develop an understanding and respect for the environment in which they live, and so last Friday the preschool children and a group of prep children participated in Clean up Australia Day. We came together, along with some parents, to collect two different types of rubbish, recycling and garbage and discussed why we needed to collect the rubbish. This generated a lot of lively discussions, but the general conse...nsus what that if we didn’t pick up rubbish it would get into the ocean and kill the animals. Here is what you need to know about our Brodie and what took her over the line for the win;... - Brodie is extremely well liked by all of the children and staff at our centre, as she always has a smile on her face and is willing to lend a hand. Brodie is very easy going, great to work with and continually shows a strong work ethic each and everyday. - Brodie is amazing at communicating with families and ensuring that they feel welcomed and safe dropping their precious little ones to our centre. It's so comforting for families to know that someone like Brodie is around to ensure that their child is happy and cared for during the day. - Brodie is always up for trying new ideas and practices within the centre and we thank her for her efforts, they are definitely not unnoticed. Brodie was an integral part of our ‘Parent Information Night’ and provided a wealth of knowledge to families. - Brodie always provides a friendly atmosphere for the children where they can learn and grow. She is extremely creative and this is reflected in her room environments, which are always so warm and engaging. Her learning activities are always set up with care and reflect the needs and interests of the children. Well done Brodie, we love having you on our team! 08.01.2022 Welcome to the team, Sonja!! Sonja joins the team in the toddler's room, as Kelsey is now on maternity leave. Sonja will also take over Lily's shifts when she goes on maternity leave to maintain continuity of care for the children. Sonja is new to the area, having moved here over the Christmas break with her husband, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her. ... Sonja has already proving herself to be a valuable team member and has quickly established warm relationships with the children and staff. We are all very excited to welcome Sonja to the team, so please give her a friendly hello and welcome when you see her around.

05.01.2022 Today we welcomed Berna from #indenpendenteducationunion, who presented our centre with a cheque in response to our successful sustainability grant where we aim to creating a self-contained ecosystem and bee hotel on the roof of a purpose-built play space. Big thank you to Claire, who was instrumental in getting this project off the ground and writing such a beautiful proposal.
