24.01.2022 LIP TATTOO PRE-CARE If you have EVER had a cold sore (herpes simplex 1 or 2 virus) you NEED to prevent an avoidable outbreak with medication. Speak to your GP for cheaper options... otherwise you can purchase a few 3-pack antivirals from the chemist once checking they won’t interact with other medications or cause allergic reactions for you. Avoid blood thinning medications such as aspirin or fish oil for 2 weeks. Refrain from your morning coffee or alcohol the night... before. No lip fillers or Botox near the area for 4 weeks minimum. Hydrate with water and avoid alcohol before-hand. Exfoliate your lips about 1 week before the appointment. You can DIY a scrub using sugar and honey/oil or I love @lush_ausnz peppermint lip scrub. Moisturise with pebanthen, aquaphor or another intense moisturer each night and during the days leading up to the appointment. LIP TATTOO AFTERCARE Avoid spicy foods and greasy foods for two days You can not apply too much moisture! You can take another round of antivirals if you’re prone to HSV-1 or HSV-2 and you can apply topical treatment too. Drink using a straw! No picking at scabs forming!
