24.01.2022 Our small and family businesses need assistance now. The $500 credit announced today just isn’t enough for small and family businesses who have carried the financial burden of the lockdown because of the failure of the quarantine system, and not all small businesses may be able to access it. Other states have rolled out assistance packages of up to $10,000, sometimes more than once.... We all know the Federal Government stepped in and did the heavy lifting with JobKeeper and JobSeeker. WA small and family businesses deserve this same support from the WA State Government. After the toughest year, small and family businesses need help now and so do their staff. Western Australians deserve the best, we have had time to plan and prepare to deliver the best.
22.01.2022 Zak Kirkup MP and Liberals WA are backing in our Western Australian small businesses and local tourism industry to help their COVID-19 recovery and give them certainty. Tourism businesses in Western Australia deserve a plan to bounce back from COVID-19 as quickly as possible, so that they can keep on employing locals, growing our economy and welcoming tourists when it is safe to do so. The Liberals plan to create 200,000 new jobs over the next five years, the amount of jobs t...he Australian Bureau of Statistics and Treasury data says we need for the economy to fully recover, is built on supporting and backing our local small businesses. 20.01.2022 Zak Kirkup and the Liberals are fighting to make public transport free for our kids and seniors, to lower the cost of living and help families get ahead. With a number of train stations within the Cannington electorate, I am all too aware that public transport costs add up for families and seniors and in some cases it is the only safe transport they have. This is part of our constructive plan to keep you safe and help you get ahead.
15.01.2022 Today is a sad day for the Liberal Party and will be the first day of a period of reflection, a great number of very dedicated people who have served their community with integrity, honour and their communities at he centre of their endeavours, it’s easy to forget that politicians are people too, so please reach out to our Liberal party colleagues who have given many years of service and this morning are forced to reset their lives , to start a new chapter of their lives. 07.01.2022 In Western Australia, we’re facing the most unusual state election we have ever faced. The Labor Party has made it very clear they want to use the Premier’s pop...ularity to take total control of our Parliament, getting rid of all our checks and balances. Here's my response https://www.watoday.com.au//in-their-own-words-zak-kirkup-
02.01.2022 Election day is here! I am so grateful to everyone in Cannington who has taken the time to speak with me and share their concerns and hopes for our local community over these past few months. I have fought for our local area and families for many years through my role on the Lynwood Senior High School board, through the footy club, and through other volunteering roles, and I am humbled to have the opportunity to now fight to be your representative in the State Parliament.... I am proud to have announced funding for much needed upgrades to Lynwood Senior High School, and to have held Labor to account over long awaited intersection upgrades. But there is still more to do. We can't risk Labor having total control of our Parliament, which is why it it is important to vote Liberal on BOTH ballot papers so that we can keep fighting to hold them to account Vote Liberal Locally in Cannington
