23.01.2022 We recently asked Auxiliary Lieutenant Alison Templar what does it mean to become a commissioned Officer of The Salvation Army. Here is what she had to say. "I ...remind myself every day that my role is to 'act justly, love kindness and walk humbly', with the people God puts on my pathway, and I am privileged to be able to do so." Congratulations Alison on your up and coming Commissioning in December.

20.01.2022 NAIDOC (National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week celebrations are usually held across Australia each July to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week 2020 will be celebrated between 8th - 15th November. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. BrunswickSalvos acknowledges the original owners of the land and pay our respects to community leaders past, present and emerging.

18.01.2022 Today marks the start of Advent - the four Sundays leading up to Christmas. For Christians Advent is about waiting. The people of Israel were waiting for their saviour. They were expecting a powerful king or a mighty warrior. God defied their expectations and instead sent a baby born to a teenager in a stable. Each week of Advent has a word connected with it. This week is HOPE. What does hope mean to you? What do you hope for as we head into a new year? How have your ...hopes been fulfilled? The book of Romans says this: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

09.01.2022 We put the call out for people to donate any unused phones a while ago. Our friends at Brunswick Uniting Church have done an amazing job of supporting people who din't have a reliable phone, but they are running out. If you have an old phone in a drawer that could be used by someone else, let us know. So many essential services are still only accessible by phone. Not having one is a barrier for a person who needs support.
