24.01.2022 Life can be so hard. Prayer can only help. You can never pray too much. So rest in prayer today. Father, I pray for someone who I know who is carrying an immense burden or facing a daunting situation. Would You surprise them today with a moment of stillness and rest? Amen

21.01.2022 Please join us for our online live-streamed worship service this Sunday 6th September on this Page. Rev Phil will be leading this Communion service where we consider the idea of reconciliation within community. Please have your communion elements ready (a small piece of bread/gluten-free option and some grape juice or equivalent) if you choose to participate in this section of the service. If you feel up to the challenge, why not create a sacred space with your elements and a candle and take a photo of it to share in the Comments of the Facebook stream!

20.01.2022 Ever wondered where Op shop purchases end up? This is Christmas Teddy, beloved bear of 8 year old Frida. He was gifted to our op shop supremo Jenny Batson (via one of her grandchildren), washed, dried and put amongst the other toys in the op shop. Three years ago Frida came in with her Grandma and Jenny spotted a match. It was a friendship made in heaven. Christmas Teddy went to live in Grandmas house and he and Frida get together every Friday night and Saturday morning.... This is Christmas Teddy sitting in his chair watching TV with Frida. What magical things are waiting for you to buy and love at our op shop this morning? (And dont forget our plant stall is well worth a gander.) Or just collect a smile! See it all this Saturday morning, 9am to 12.30 pm at Mullumbimby Uniting Church Op shop, Dalley Street, opposite the Meadows doctors surgery.

14.01.2022 We must remind ourselves that, though our lives are small and our acts seem insignificant, we are generative elements of this universe, and we create meaning with each act that we perform or fail to perform. Kent Nerburn in ‘Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace’

10.01.2022 Big shout out to Mullumbimby Uniting Church Op Shop team today. We see them smiling behind the Op Shop counter and plant stall. But back-of-house its a different story. In the picture youll see 50 pink bags. These are full of the clothes that did not sell in the Op shop for one reason or another. Our team sort these out, fill the pink bags and then wonderful Wayne comes to pick them up. Jen from the Op Shop tells us Yes thats right!! The clothes, shoes, kids toys etc are ...sorted, washed clean by an army of our people who are doing a fabulous job despite the ever-increasing amount of rubbish they tell me theyre having to cope with The bags are stored at our house simply for convenience Wayne (the truck driver who collects the bags ) so appreciates the fact that he can just back into our driveway, which in his words, makes the job super-easy The drivers have told me some terrible stories of what is expected of them at some of their collection points having to unlock storage areas & drag hundreds of bags up & down stairs & alley ways unassisted my heart bleeds for them !!! Wayne who loves his job made today happen by meeting us just inside the bubble the goodness of people PS Every Christmas (our team) give the driver a little treat & Christmas card in appreciation for the great support they give us during the year we couldnt do what we do without them small acts of unexpected kindness certainly bring so much joy PS Gave Wayne a bottle of chocolate coated almonds to chew on while he waited the arrival of another 350 pink bags from Ballina shire the mind boggles. {See http://www.bringthepinkbagtoschool.com.au for more info on Wayns mob} But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8 ESV

02.01.2022 Were excited..our latest project is a refurbished kitchen in Mullumbimby Uniting Church hall! Weve cleared out some treasured (and not so treasured) items for stage one. Lots more to do. If you would like to help us financially contact our treasurer, Bryan Tansley in [email protected]. Every little helps!

02.01.2022 Reflect on Psalm 19: 1-4 ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.’ ... ‘Every word of God is flawless. He is a shield to those who take refuge in him’ Proverbs 30:5

02.01.2022 Shelter us in the shadow of your wings, Lord.

01.01.2022 Look what hands can do.
