03.01.2022 Popped over to Bruny and picked up delicious produce for dinner yesterday! I walked into the kitchen and blamed one of the kids for dropping a dirty dirty fart ...last night ... turns out it was the mouldy Jerry cheese even though its pungent the cheese itself is smooth, gooey and subtle (my new fav cheese) the oysters were perfection as usual and all 3 honeys from Bruny Island Honey have distinct flavours and consistencies and all are equally yum See more

01.01.2022 "We are all family here." What do you think of this Tasmanian tourism campaign? The new one million dollar ad campaign is urging Tasmanians to holiday in thei...r own state and support local businesses. Will you be supporting tourism and hospitality businesses in the state?

01.01.2022 SeaLink are pleased to announce a new timetable effective from Friday 5th June 2020, adding an additional 19 services a week to the current timetable. Like all... Tasmanians, we are pleased to see the reduction to Stage 2 restrictions and we will be running an additional ferry to support travel at peak times over this long weekend. We appreciate that the community relies on the ferry for connections to the mainland, which the restrictions and the ferry timetable can impact. Thank you to the community for your feedback, patience and understanding we are listening. We are committed to working with the Government and community stakeholders to ensure that the service delivers a timetable that is both effective and sustainable.

01.01.2022 We caught up with Natalie from The Honey Pot & Bruny Island Honey to see what they were up to with the bees while the rest of us are still in lock-down. The... bees have been brought down from some of the colder places, such as Geeveston and Lake Pedder, and are now all put to bed, high and dry, for winter. This involves moving them to warmer areas, such as the beautiful Barnes Bay on Bruny Island (bees with a view!). They are also packed in tightly, so they will be nice and warm as they hibernate for the winter. Natalie said that the bees havent noticed anything different over the last few months and have just been going about their normal business. The rest of the honey team have been busy as well - packing and bottling tonnes of fresh new season honey, ready for when Salamanca Market opens again. The team have also been taking the opportunity to do some renovations to their Huon Valley store, including ripping out walls, repainting and redesigning. We miss our Salamanca Market customers and stallholders, but we are not missing the cold 5 am starts! says Natalie. When travel opens up a bit more, consider a drive to pick up some fresh honey. You can find The Honey Pot at 2273 Huon Hwy, and Bruny Island Honey at 2184 Bruny Island Main Rd, Great Bay. Both are open 7 days. You can also find their delicious honey for sale on our new online store https://salamancamarketstore.com.au/product-/the-honey-pot/
