18.01.2022 Our beautiful hops are doing well this season. Our new palisade fence allows visitors to consider life inside our own human quarantine station. Our historic doctor’s residence is resplendent with a new roof, many thanks to our Parks and Wildlife Service.

16.01.2022 Plants were quarantined extensively on the Station during the 1950s and 60s. Orchids were quarantined here as were raspberries, Pine trees, hops, raspberries, etc. Our own orchids are now in full bloom in the polycarbonate hothouse. Raspberries and hops are also in the move! Come and visit and perhaps also find the beautiful native orchids flowering in the bush near our native orchid sign! Many thanks to Parks Tasmania for their wonderful external restoration of the Station’s Caretaker residence.

13.01.2022 The Station is familiar with quarantine and jobs progress off Station. The mortuary is one of our next interpretation sites. Thanks to Kathy, Mike, Mel, Dave, Leanne and George for their inputs into restoring a genuine WW1 first aid stretcher that would have been part of the mortuary kit. Fergus is doing the first client test.

09.01.2022 The Station is OPEN However the building containing our document collection is closed until further notice. Many on site activities are still available.
