23.01.2022 Hey everyone, here is a shopfront transformation with a twist...a face-lift for a tired looking cafe, by making it look even more weathered...they wanted something "french shabby chic"...I think we got it?...french-style window framing also done by me, obviously so was the painting...note the different surfaces (tiles, brick and flat) to overcome and make look like sandstone blocks...but alotta work...what do you think? 21.01.2022 A job done more recently up high on a rustic tin feature wall in a mechanic shop with a 50's style cafe/bar/restaurant built around it..so you can watch the goings-on while you eat your burger..had to write the logo then aged it with sandpaper..should be here for more work, they love the traditional stuff..

19.01.2022 Hey everyone, here's a groovy little business opened up in Long Jetty....if you haven't been to Long Jetty in while, it's changed..yoga studio with organic cafe and street seating, soon to open private garden dining area at rear...I supplied and fitted awning panels, supply panels for and paint under-awning light box and mural on side wall...still no stickers...clean inviting presentation...like and share if you will...

19.01.2022 Hi everyone, here's another full brick shopfront makeover for a new business in The Entrance - American Diner...these makeovers work best when I'm required to come up with a concept and action it, way more so than just actioning someone else's ideas...though that still works and is absolutely doable, a lot of signage do's and dont's get bypassed...this one is my concept...btw, the lightbox faces are not mine...before and afters...please like and share if you care...

12.01.2022 Hey all...firstly a couple of additions to some previous work posted here...American Diner & Bar have snatched the wall space alongside the door and I've painted another logo along with stars, stripes, neon tubing and it wouldn't be complete without a route 66 sign in there somewhere....had to go back to a shot before 'brush-to-wall' for the space referred to...and a stand back shot of the entire shopfront...sorry can't get a front on pic, the umbrellas are a permanent fixture...still, you get a reasonable look and the finished product with book-end logos...please like and share with whoever you want...

11.01.2022 Hello all, here is a more recent shopfront package...a case of less is more, but the kicker is the wood grain effect is painted on metal...great effect, will be using that one again...oh, and the font is as per logo...found it quite confronting to be painting dodgy shaped letters...still, looks a bit sharp, yeh?

07.01.2022 Ok, as mentioned a short time back, Rainbow Road (The Entrance) has had face lift with roof-top signage to come after summer season. Same colours as before, just used more purposefully...before and after...big difference I think...

05.01.2022 Hey everyone, got a few more make-overs to share with you...this first one was a job I did a couple of years ago, new owner, new look...old mate approached me about doing it while I was head down doing another up the road...no time to knock up art at the time, told him to paint it out whatever colour he wanted, I will come up with a concept from that...grey...he painted it grey!...keeping the wood gain effect and gotta use Italian flag colours...does anyone have any idea how many different ways of using red, white and green I've had to come up with over the years....just locally there are several places and they all want to be unique...of course...so I've gone for the 70's pizza shop look...gotta love brick walls..he's real happy...

04.01.2022 Lolly shop, last of a small cluster of shops next to each other, all decked out by my hand...and brush..ironically, done from a digital design..

03.01.2022 Here is a restoration...I like to try and preserve old hand written signs when I come across them...this the second one in The Entrance on the Central Coast...this iconic chinese restaurant apparently was the go-to place for a retro experience chow feed in the 70's and 80's...owned by the Ho family, dad was the driving force...then he died, leaving his wife and one son of 3 children to run things, the other two children wanted nothing to do with the restaurant...this is impor...tant coz the business hasn't had a single cracker spent on it for 35 years and it shows...Mrs Ho approached me in the street one day while writing an awning and asked if I would price fixing her shop awning...I priced to restore the traditional decorative roofing as well, but the price blew out...$6000 for the scaffolding alone...so only the awning got the go ahead...climbed up and screwed down some pieces that came off over time along with some pieces peeling up for no return...restorations are a different process...more time consuming but it's a surreal feeling to resurrect a signart piece long since dead...original signwriter's name was Jim Bollard, a highly regarded local brushy, long since dead himself...some progressive shots to appreciate the specific process...so here's your peek back into 1970something...like and share please See more
