21.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone! I have some news for you all - both good and bad. Elvia unfortunately had a mental breakdown last week, which resulted in a hospital admission. We are sure her medication has played a large part in how bad it was and how hard it was on her. It has taken a week of back and forth between her support team, her usual mental health team, and the hospital mental health team - but she has finally been transferred to a hospital that has the facilities and the... funding to offer a much better level of care for her diagnosis which means she is actually feeling more hopeful about getting better (this is the good news!!)! However this means she will be unable to shoot for the next 2-3 weeks (the bad news). At the moment I am in the process of postponing the next two weeks of shoots (up until the 14th of October) and in the next week we should know if she will need another week or not. If you’d like to cancel your shoot, that is totally understandable and I can issue a refund. We understand there are situations where a 2-3 week postponement isn’t possible, so please contact me via the Brushtail Photography page to discuss what we can do. I also have a lot of messages and emails to deal with which I will have time to do today. I am about a week behind with emails, and a couple of days behind in messages, as I have been the main on the ground support for Elvia. I am lucky enough to be able to call Elvia my best friend as well as my boss, so I have been able to be included in all of this process. We are also delayed in editing due to Elvia not being able to edit, but please understand we are working our asses off to get your galleries back to you ASAP! Bek, our other amazing editor, is going to work right up until her planned surgery early this month so that we can make sure everything is done as soon as possible. Understandably Elvia is quite worried she is disappointing you all, but she knows she is doing the best thing for everyone in the long run, and is in the best place for her right now! 15.01.2022 Will be catching up on emails/messages later tonight if all goes to plan (worst case scenario would be tomorrow evening) <3 It's my youngest son's 3rd birthday tomorrow, and we just got back this afternoon after escaping down to Wollongong yesterday. 15.01.2022 ~~ last minute mini sessions this Sunday ~~ We have 3 sessions this Sunday (20th) morning available for mini sessions. This will be the last opportunity for mini sessions at Nepean River before we start the end of year family mini's at the studio in October. Available times: 930am, 10am, and 1030am.... The sessions will be 20 minutes, and include digital files of all images taken in the session. Photos will have basic editing (contrast, exposure, etc) done. Price is $250. 09.01.2022 To my loyal and valued customers: As you know I have been struggling with my mental health the last couple of months. What you don’t know is that there have been days when I have struggled to get out of bed and days where, after shoots, I am completely exhausted both physically and emotionally. Dramatic changes to our family compounded with the COVID19 pandemic originally escalated all of my emotions but have meant that I have had time to process things that I had previously... ignored. It has been just in this last week that I reached a breakthrough with my health professionals, and C-PTSD is a likely diagnosis. I’m hoping now that having this answer is a step forward in the right direction to my recovery and improved wellbeing. My family have been supporting me while I get the help I need, to take it easy with a smaller workload, and to set realistic expectations of myself. I have had long and ongoing discussions with my family, my friends, and my health professionals about how I can best look after myself, and so that I can then care for my two young boys as best I can. I also love my work, my business, and my loyal clients so have not wanted to disappoint you all! It is with all of these pieces added together that I have decided to offer mini family sessions (WITHOUT Santa) in the lead up to Christmas, with the big red antique lounge and the wooden bridge in my front garden at the studio. The amount of time and stress that goes into decorating and preparing the Christmas props is too much for me at the moment, but if you want to bring your own Christmas themed props etc I would love for you to use them! At this stage it is looking like we would start sessions October 23/24/25, and would offer 5-6 spots Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons until December 20th. Our VIPs (previous customers) will be informed of sessions opening 24 hours before it is made public. We will only be opening bookings one week at a time, 1.5-2 weeks before the sessions. This will allow us to monitor how the system is working, how I am coping, and whether any adjustments need to be made. I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your understanding, compassion, and support especially over the last 9-10 months while Brushtail and myself have been experiencing a large amount of anxiety and upheaval. I understand so many people have been in similar situations this year, with the fires then floods and finally with COVID19 it has been one hell of a year! I am taking the opportunity to spend some time with my family this weekend, as I am feeling quite anxious about disappointing you all...
