25.01.2022 Spring is Springing! It never fails to amaze me the birds that nest in our tubestock, we are surrounded by natural forest and revegetation but some birds arent worried about the sprinklers and enjoy setting up home on our nursery benches, and dont worry we flag them and work around these nests when they occur. These are both active nests.

09.01.2022 The Kids in Action team, an amazing group of talented and knowledable presenters and two incredible videographers have created a suite of wonderful videos based on the Sunshine Coast Kids in Action 2020 theme "We are Botanica". Due to Covid we've created a Virtual Environmental Projects Day Program for Kids in Action 2020. Whilst these resources have been designed for kids from local schools across the Sunshine Coast, they are open, free and accessible for everyone to enjo...y. 05.01.2022 New environmental weed identified on the Blackall Range. Susie Duncan from Hinterland Bush Links located this mystery plant (at the time) near Lake Baroon and we grew on so we could ID when it flowered, which it did yesterday. Aristea ecklonii - Blue Stars, what a stunning blue flower, but make no mistake, from information online for sites further south, this plant can become a serious weed. Being in the Iris family Iridaceae, the fruit are a dry capsule and would only usually be dispersed by gravity eg falling or being flicked by passing fauna or wind, but as this has turned up in the bush well away from gardens, perhaps there is potential for bird dispersal? Definately one to watch and inspite of its beauty - control!
