25.01.2022 Although we are currently unable to conduct pool inspections during COVID-19 Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne, we encourage you to complete a self-assessment using the relevant VBA checklist, and fix any issues you find. This is a simple step you can take to avoid additional re-inspection fees, and speed up the process of getting your compliance certificate. Stay safe everyone and we look forward to assisting you on the other side of this lockdown!... https://www.vba.vic.gov.au//swimming-/pool-safety-barriers

14.01.2022 Hey #FrankstonCity, have you registered your pool or spa? In December, the Victorian Government introduced legislation stating that all properties with poo...ls or spas have to be registered with your local council and the safety barrier inspected every four years. The new laws aim to improve safety and reduce the number of drownings of young children that occur in private swimming pools and spas. 09.01.2022 We have updated our website to include easy-to-follow information on the new pool regulations. Visit www.bsafepools.com.au/faqs

01.01.2022 Supervision is key to keeping young children safe around backyard pools. Pool barriers also have an important role to play as they are proven to reduce the risk... of drowning. Since 2000, 27 young children have drowned in private swimming pools and spas. In at least 20 of those cases, the non-compliance of the safety barrier is likely to have played a role. If you own a pool or spa, you must register it with your local council by 1 June 2020. You’re now also required to obtain certificates confirming the compliance of your pool or spa barrier every four years.
